Would the speakers pair well with a Sony STRDH590 receiver ? Sorry for the questions . New to audio . Will probably use for music 80% time and 20% movies

They'd be groovy, man. They dip down to 4ohms, which is not too bad, as long as it's a decent amp. Significantly better than the RP-600M, which dip well under 4 ohms.
Thanks. I know nothing about ohms and what is required to properly push speakers. I should have said previously that the receiver is a Pioneer SX-780.

Pioneer and Carver? Pioneer is more miss than hit, but occasionally they do a nice job. Carver? Lots of power in my old a-500x, but I can't imagine it's particularly clean power. And their speakers? Nice if you're a fetishist for weird designs and not sound. Samsung/Harman/JBL/Infinity/Revel/etc. are the best in the business overall. That means they're more hit than miss, but still they have some misses here and there. I'd happily put the 530 up against an equivalently priced and even more expensive pioneer speaker. The PB12 is excellent, but I'd want 3-4 of them.

4 is the minimum. 1 in each corner.

can anyone comment on how these perform on the bass department? Rated @45 hz, do they perform well on the low end? Trying to avoid a sub in a 5.1 system.

Have a 7.2.6 dedicated home theater with 2x590s, 4 of these as surrounds, Revel Concerta2 C25 center, 2xSVS PB2000 subs, and 6 Micca reference for Atmos. With Denon 6700 plus Monoprice 2ch driving the 590s.

Really enjoy it.

Yes! I am debating between these and the 6.5 inch woofered, similar priced Polk S20 or Elac B6.2 The Polks can go down to 39Hz apparently!
If look into the kef 150s as well but wait until they are down to$300 and not their inflated prices

Damn wish their studio monitors would go back on sale like they used to go for under $200. Been waiting for 2 years 😭.
So over 2 years you weren't able to save an extra $50? Ouch

Lowest I've seen them go for was $300 (MSRP $400) on sale near Black Friday last year and as someone said earlier, they were able to get the pair for even less ($152). Def a lot more than $50 saved.

Very true but a deal like $150 is something that maybe comes around once in a decade.

If you check the pattern and occurrence from previous posts of this deal, you would notice that it actually was pretty common and would frequently go on sale around this price. But this was pre-covid. Covid f'd up the prices so that this deal never came back again 😭.

I am putting together a 2.1 or 3.1 setup, mind sharing what speaker are you using for the center channel? Thanks!
JBL Studio 520CBK which uses the same horn waveguide technology. It's a big center and sounds terrific

Immersiveness of the sound stage??? Wave guides improve directivity, making for a nice, broad listening window.
Yes. That's what I said in different words. What are you arguing LMAO
