Do you have the Pro doorbell? That's the only one worth using.

Does this thing works with Tinycam Pro?

I use Amcrest. I plaster using transparent shipping tape to my house windows. It works well.

You wouldn't. Youll drain the battery quick unless you just want notifications if someone passes by? I have mine just on batteries and they last me about 2-3 months each charge. Previous owner removed the doorbell transformer and wiring and used a cheapo wireless doorbell

I second this comment. My cameras and door bell last me about 2 months before I have to charge them again. It all depends on your usage and boundary zones. If you hardly have any motion you should be fine, but if you live in a busy street then maybe it can be a headache. I live in a cul-de-sac (dead end) so I hardly get any motion.

Hope this comment helps someone deciding in purchasing this system.

Is that normal price or sale? I'm always hesitant to buy anything in the weeks leading up to prime day.

If we have the Ring Pro plan, would it still cover a refurb unit from Amazon if it were to break during the period we were subscribed to Pro? Or does it need to be new and/or purchased from Ring?

We have three of these and are really torn on them. On the one hand they're convenient and let us keep an eye on things outside when they work, but there are definite caveats. The Windows 10 app is absolutely awful and getting worse - often the live view will shut off after 40 seconds rather than 10 minutes or just doesn't connect at all, leaving you with a spinning white circle on black background while it says "Activating". The official solution apparently is to uninstall and reinstall the app, while Ring themselves state [ring.com] "The Ring app is no longer supported on the Windows 10 mobile device platform". Not too much of a problem if you're just monitoring these with your phone I suppose, but it's annoying to us, especially since we have to do the uninstall/reinstall every other day.

Sound quality is just ok and while the cameras are rain/shower proof, the mics are highly affected by wind & weather and two way conversation lags a LOT, plus it can sound like talking through an old pocket radio. But most annoying for us is the fact that ours don't connect all of the time. We've been through all sorts of hoops with Ring Customer Service, having cameras replaced, telling us it's our modem/router/PC, etc. But these are incredibly common issues and something we wish we'd discovered before paying full price for a trio of cameras.

At least it had a Windows 10 app. Some (like Wyze) only have android/iOS apps

If you can swing a power cable the powered ring cameras are way better.

I am genuinely interested in learning how ring door bell can be used as camera at a place where there is no existing 12v/16v doorbell connection? like backyard.
He posted a link to the battery operated version. Not very genuinely interested i would say.

So this is pretty much just a Ring Doorbell in a different shape and without the button? Refurb Ring Doorbell 2 is $69.99 and once in a while drops to $23 if Amazon Warehouse has it in stock: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PCRN5YT
This camera won't have the fisheye distortion
