The tool alone is regularly $139 and rarely on sale so not bad. I bought mine a while back as part of the buy more save more but paid a bit more than this. I've only used the tool a couple of times. It worked great for that job and I can certainly see many uses for it in the future. And if you aren't aware, these tools can be modified into mini belt sanders rather easily. It's worth it for that alone IMO Wink

I've built an entire rabbit hutch using only this for wood, plastic, and caging and didn't even get through 2 batteries. Never shut off on its own even once. Also cut tons of metal rails for hanging cabinets and shelving using this to cut the rails, also never once overheated. Your friend must've just had a dud. You also need to use the larger batteries for this, just like you would with the circular saw. As for chargers, maybe there's something wrong with his wiring, if he's having chargers fried, that damages the battery which can mess up the tool too. My boss buys exclusively Milwaukee tools, and only M12's unless it's a tool that's only M18. Never had a problem once with any of them.
I don't need another tool.... I don't need another tool... Modified into a belt sander you say?
Please don't tie up their inventory by letting it sit. That creates a hardship for the store and for other customers that may not be able to find inventory because the one you don't want is sitting away on a shelf somewhere.

Order the tool for store pick-up and the battery to be shipped, then cancel the battery shortly after the order is placed.

This includes the battery but no charger, correct? I tried going over the page and details and don't see it listed under any of the specs, and normally I can tell when it says Tool only, but since it DOES include a battery I am guessing that won't be there.

If you want the tool only, you can add the two items to cart individually, return or cancel the battery, and the tool prorates to $95. (Subtotal doing it that way is $139, so battery prorates to $44)

So what's the strategy with the tool only? Pick up battery at the store and just let it sit there until it lapses and they refund it? You can't cancel just one item before it ships right?

Edit: Well that resolved itself all on it's own. I picked my local store for battery pickup and figured I would just call to cancel it only to have the store call me first to tell me they didn't have any. They canceled it.

If the total of the two items was $119 separately (like the posted deal), rather than $139, the tool only after the hack would likely be around $80 and I would probably bite. But at $95 for the tool only after the hack, I have just enough willpower pass on this deal Smilie

I bought this little thing a few months back, and it is bad ass! It was purely for home DIY stuff, but it has come in handy for the easy cutting of wood and thick plastic things many times. It makes quick work of everything I have needed it for (worst case was ~2mm thick stainless steel tubing which it made very quick work of, and it is surprisingly easy to control while cutting).

Decent deal. Ive got this saw and, depending on where you are what youre doing, the saw works really well.

Interesting how many deals are now battery only but no chargers. Wonder if the chip shortage is causing that.

Life saver for cutting mosaic tile. All my other saws were too big to cut the little detailed cuts.
