Not sure what Slickdeals is doing jacking up the links but I just bought a 32GB unit but now it looks like it may not be available anymore (after I just bought it).

Search Costco for "Apple 4k". Looks like the 64GB is still available. And yes, these are the new ones with A12 processor and the significantly improved remote.

Atmos adds more spatial effects above you. If you don't have the extra speakers and receiver, it probably won't add much to your experience. I think Disney+ has atmos content for a lot of their movies or high production value shows (mandalorean).

Serious question, what is the purpose of the space for Apple TV's besides the apps themselves? I don't see what I would load up the space with even for a 32gb device.

I got Atmos but never used it. I have the SAMSUNG HW-Q950T lol. I'm gonna get Apple TV. Was waiting on new version anyways. Pointless to have this soundbar and not take full advantage.

You should be good to go! It has extra processing and speakers on that bar and surround speakers for the extra channels.

I don't know why I don't have the new Apple TV lol. I was really waiting for it for months because it was dropping any month. I'm gonna buy it. Not expensive whatever

The remote is much better but I don't think I can get over how loud the clicking noise is from the buttons. My wife even asked me why I was clicking the buttons so loudly. I'll probably be returning it.

Eh also for me it's cheaper to just get it from b&h. no tax so $180 total. Well, except the whole discover cash back... that would make this about $2 cheaper, but I don't have my own costco account either. lol.

Also have an LG Oled. HBO max is biggest feature.
The second, and I know it sounds minor, but being able to tell ask siri "what did they just say" and have it rewind, turn captions on for 10-15 seconds, then turn captions back off- man that's priceless in shows with heavy accents or random parts that have really low audio (compared to the explosion scenes).

While you might not want/need 4k keep in mind this, and the previous, 4k Apple TV have many novel features exclusive from the Apple TV HD unrefreshed since 2015. Frame rate match, dynamic HDR, HomePod stereo compatibility, and other ancillary features are arguably more important than just 4k playback.

I watch almost no 4k content but these features I use all the time. I strongly suggest avoiding the Apple TV HD unless you want tvOS as cheap as possible and find it for ~$80 secondhand.

Can someone explain what will this be better than Apple 4th Gen 4K device that was released in 2017 with respect to video and audio. My 3 year old device supports HDR, Dolby Vision and Atoms. Does this new device improve anything with respect to video or audio otherwise for periphery nonsense Apple advertises I see no value buying these every year.
