This is the best deal on the Trex I've seen. Just make sure you understand that this is not equivalent to the Apple Watch or a Wear OS watch. This is basically a good fitness device with some smart functionality. You'll receive messages, emails, and notifications, but will not be able to reply to any of them from the watch. Otherwise the Amazfit watches/OS works pretty well. The faces are decent and the battery life is usually pretty amazing. I have the Bip U and the original Bip and both have been great watches. I use them a lot more than my Fossil Wear OS device due to the battery life.
I bought this watch on the last deal for around this price and really like it! Sleep tracking, heart rate, and notifications are what I use most, and I love that I can track dirt bike rides/gps tracks with the cycling workout feature. The flashlight has come in handy, as well as the "find my phone" feature.

The battery lasts forever... I haven't had it below 50% and go days without charging, even with the "always on" feature.

My big complaint is that even on "sensitive" mode, many times when I lift the watch face to see the time, it stays off. "Always on" mode fixes this, but does drain the battery quicker (it still lasts a LONG time!)

This is also quite a rugged watch. I smash it around pretty often (dirt biking) with no wear or damage to show for it. While it is a rugged watch, they say not to scuba dive with it. (Depth limit 5 atmospheres.)

One last thing, the app is now called "zepp" instead of amazfit, so don't let that confuse you like it confused me.

All in all this is an awesome deal and a great watch!
I've been using the T-Rex as my daily for over a year. I have used several fitbits, The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier, TicWatch E, and the Amazfit Bip. For me the T-Rex meets my needs. It doesn't have the expanded functionality of an Apple or Google watch but I only charge it once a week. Notifications work and fitness tracking is adequate. The most notable thing I wasn't expecting was the watches durability. I do much of my own repairs around the house and have inadvertently hit the watch against a solid surface on numerous occasions. Not even a scratch! If you can live without the extra bells and whistles or battery life and durability are traits you admire, this might be the watch for you.

Damn can't reply to notifications. One of the main reasons I like having a smartwatch.

Same here. If they put out a version that did I'd buy it without hesitation.

How's the sleep tracker? That is my number 1 feature and I wonder if the size is too big to comfortably fall asleep with it...

Pretty good. It tells you how much REM, deep sleep, light sleep, awake times, when you fell asleep and when you woke up. It tells you if you take a short nap on top of your regular sleep. You can view your heart rate in relation to your sleep for the night. It gives you a score based on % of each kind of sleep and awake times, plus it gives you a comparison to other folks' reported sleep scores.

I like the watch, as it is pretty rugged. The only thing I would knock it for is that the band is a little soft for me. Would rather it be more like a soft plastic on a G Shock, and less of a silicone feel.

This deal came at perfect time! Using my Payboo card now and no sale tax! $85 flat. Plus B&H has 30 day no questions asked return if it doesn't work out.

From everyone's response and Youtube vids, this is a good value fitness tracker first and smartwatch features second. I don't need talking on the phone, siri, apps etc anyway. The only thing I'm a bit leery about is the bugginess of the UI and app, we shall see!

all seriousness, why use watch as sleep tracker? or why sleep tracker at all?
fine it detects if i toss and turn, and then what? wake me up so i can have a worse sleep? i would know if i had a good night sleep or not enough sleep the moment i wake up.
if anything, putting a watch on my wrist is probably going to be the root cause of not having a solid sleep in the first place.

I've bought in through the last deal. B&H sucked big: I did pay for the black one on April 17 and was promised it will be available in 7-14 business days. In reality it took over a month for them to get it (I was already going to cancel my order), so it reached me at the very end of May.
If you choose Rock Black, don't expect to get it in time.

My main interest in sleep tracking is to have an alarm that wakes me when I'm in light sleep. (Tracks sleep cycle, then if you come out of deep sleep ~45 mins before set alarm time, it wakes you up early vs letting you fall back into deep sleep and jarring you out of it.)

No idea if this watch can support that. Some phone apps read data from some trackers. Some watches have it built in.

I don't know about that, but doubt it does that. I know the alarm is enough to wake you, and like it because it doesn't wake anyone else up by vibrating, but have not seen a setting like that.

Also a handy thing it does, even if your phone is on do not disturb to where it will not ring if you misplace it, it will beep for the find your phone function.

I've been using a sleep tracker in various forms for about 8 years now. Various sleep apps analyze your sleep patterns and can give you insight what the optimum time for bed is and other useful info. And, I find that actually works pretty well and it actually helps me personally.

However, I think the most useful feature is telling you how much deep sleep you got and what your cycles look like. Sometimes I'm tired but I got a lot of deep sleep. It turns out when my alarm goes off in a deep cycle, I'm usually tired. I usually just need to finish the cycle and I know that a nap sometime during he day will really help for those times.

Is it 24/7 heartrate or like those shitty knockoffs that makes you press a button to see heartrate, then show you that heartrate forever until you press it again?

You can only improve things that you measure. That's why people use a sleep tracker.

I don't have T-rex, but I have GTR2 which is supposedly higher end than this. It does heartrate at most once a minute. So it isn't quite 24x7. BUT, my experience is it is more accurate than the fitbit versa I had especially when exercising. I think once a minute is good enough for most uses.

Also, you wont see the the battery life they quote if you enable once a minute HR and other "continuous" measurements. I have most settings at high, the battery is done in about 4 days even without using GPS (they claim 14 days). So safe to assume similar degradation in T-rex.

I also had a different model Amazfit watch - the GTS 2e. I really liked everything about the watch. Had good sleep tracking, battery life, and overall functionality. However, I discovered it wasn't tracking my first 20 or so steps I would take and really couldn't get passed that. I would walk from one end of the house to the other and no steps tracked at all. So I tested it one day with my iPhone in my pocket vs the watch and the watch showed 3,000 steps vs my phone showing 7,000 steps. Watch was returned the next day and I got an Apple Watch instead. Perhaps the TRex model doesn't have the same issues tracking steps as mine did, but figured it was worth a share since I'm guessing they operate very closely to one another.

Does it sync with Strava ? I picked up the Garmin Vivoactive 3 for $100 on slickdeal a few month back. I absolutely love it. Also the Garmin comes with contactless payments, for me a killer app. I can go for a walk or go anywhere without my wallet and never feel stranded. I can buy anything with just the watch. I use mine everyday for sports tracking, which I pretty much only use Strava. I don't use the Garmin App or Website or anything, they're nothing special. Strava is the killer app! Garmin Pay is the killer app! Looking for another watch in the $100 range. Thanks for Posting OP!
