06/08/21: Home Depot today is now unboxing their deal not yet on their site
06/09/21: Home Depot has now posted the deal to their website, but shows out of stock online. Might have to do a brickseek or check your local HD.
$99 for 20V Max 2AH Battery Pack w/ Charger SKU 1005-968-540
There are 3 versions of the Dewalt's cordless oscillating multitool:
Atomic - 18,000opm - DCS354
XR - 20,000opm - DCS355
XR 3 speed - variable up to 20,000opm - DCS356
For the non variable they're essentially the same tool minus 2k max oscillations per minute.
Same size, weight, dimensions, both brushless. If you see this video[youtube.com], same performance.
That other guy must've had a bad experience that just soured him on all atomic tools judging by his posts, because people love their atomic oscillating tools, highly reviewed at 5 stars on home depot, amazon, ace hardware etc.
After checking its even the same distribution of reviews at amazon, 88% 5star, 9% 4stars, 1% 1star while the XR is 88% 5star, 10% 4stars, 1% 1star.
The real difference is: you can't buy the Atomic lineup at Lowes, where you can at Home Depot. Atomic is marketed as SBD's lower tier kind of lineup like Craftsman, think more homeowner friendly, and you cant get Craftsman stuff at Home Depot but you can at Lowes. Big box stores fighting for exclusives that pad out retail space.
Note this isn't the case for the other atomic stuff, their drill & driver are definitely less powerful than equivalent XR versions. But to say Atomic lineup is something that will break after an hour of use or catch fire on you after running it for 10minutes, just sounds like someone talking nonsense.
In the end, the XR variable speed is probably the one you want, all things being equal(price, availability etc). But maybe in this case getting a cheap battery can offset the need for the variable speed or those 2000 extra oscillations.
XR has 3 speed settings but all of them has a variable trigger speed. All it take is a steady finger and you can have it at any speed you want.

But the battery that comes with this deal is a regular 20V Max model?
Says out of stock in San Diego Was aiming for drywall gun since I've used the impact bits and I still feel like it just wants to kill the bit or strip the screw. I'm a DIYer and still feel it's worth it. I've only done about 6 full rooms of sheetrock this year though. Removing them all, adding insulation, and including ceiling. Plus already have 12V Milwaukee oscillating tool with variable speeds which I like.
Maybe I just don't have the.. wrnghhhh dook dook dook down right?
Went into the Home Depot at lunch in San Diego. They had the display encased in a black plastic bag. Looks like they are going to release this deal soon, just have to wait till when that is.

I've seen that before "events," usually Black Friday but also, in this case, Father's day. Sometimes there will actually be a piece of paper with a date written on it. I would guess either tomorrow or Friday.

Thank you! Slowly moving over from 12v red to 20v yellow!
Just picked the drywall screwgun combo up in store at Paterson, NJ. Had a big display section in the front. The items rang up separately plus a $139 discount. Total $102.28 including tax. Receipt shows the battery and charger has max refund value of $41.18 and the screwgun has $57.82.

The Drywall screwgun leaves an indent so you can mud over the screw.
As others have said, just buy a magnetic drywall bit for your drill. The only advantage this has that I can see is that it's probably lighter than a drill so holding it up for long periods would be easier. But its not like it has an auto-feed magazine that would be really useful.
I had purchased the atomic oscillating tool 4 months ago and had not used it. After reading about the differences with the XR model. I sold the atomic at a loss and order the XR.

Actually, with the DCF6201/6202 the drywall gun does get a self-feed function. Granted its another $60 but it does exist
Just picked the screw gun deal in store today since I was there picking up something else, they didn't have many and brickseek said there weren't any at all.
