I have this at home and it is my favorite way to sharpen. Just keep in mind that this is not a guided system. It takes learning, finesse, and a steady hand. It produces an unquestionably top notch edge in the right hands. In the wrong hands, it will absolutely destroy the look/tip your knife in the blink of an eye. I don't think is has an equal on the market. Plan to start with knives you don't mind damaging. Guided systems all have their own limitations as do stones. Not all knives are designed with sharpening in mind. This compensates for the deficiencies in a guided system. I have sharpened axes, swords, machetes, lawn mower blades, and several hundred knives with the one I have at home. I've even reshaped blades from saber grind to full convex. Belt variety is limited, but most of what you could want is available, not always through work sharp. The deflection of the belt makes the sharpener inappropriate for a true scandi grind but is capable of so called scandivex.
You also need to be wary of edge and tip heating, especially on thin knives. Since you operate the sharpener with two hands on the knife, there is no reason not to notice any heat. Rated duty cycle is one hour on, one hour off.

The Work Sharp WSSAKO81112 Blade Grinder Attachment is currently $60.59 at Amazon.
This is only $1.56 higher than the lowest price it's ever been on Amazon. Please note that this is for use with The Ken Onion Edition Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener only.
This is an excellent addition to the Ken Onion Edition Work Sharp to get a razor sharp edge on your knives.
Thank you. The discount on the attachment and the 10 percent from the Amazon credit card was enough for me to finally hop on over to the Amazon app on my phone and pull the trigger on buying this system, both the main unit and the attachment.
Amazon "bundles" these but simply adds the component prices together so I doubt I will get a better deal on some package offering. This also precludes the temptation to roll the dice on a warehouse deal. I don't think any Prime Day deal could be much better than this either. All signs pointed to "buy" so boom, trigger pulled. Thanks again for your eagle-eye deal hunting.

Does anybody know if it includes the belts? The pictures show that it does but some reviews state it doesn't. I suspect it doesn't as there is an comb package that definitely includes belts, just not sure if these are additional belts from what is already included.

back of the box for the attachment says it includes belts so i'd return it if you don't get any
It's too bad they don't sell the Ken Onion compatible "motor" separate from the Ken Onion sharpening guide. I feel like I'd never use the sharpening guide if I had this attachment.

It does comes with belts, at least my model did. For pocket knives I typically get a sharper edge with the Spyderco Sharp Maker. For anything else this is awesome. I've repaired some pretty beat up blades on friend's hunting knives to very sharp
