the build quality and screen are nice, it's debatable whether the cpu is even good enough to make the unit worth 180
geekbench is hardly the end all of speed and there are probably a ton of factors but vs the Chromebook duet (250)
3965y 361 single 688 multi
helio p60t (duet) 263 single 926 multi
in my experience single is more important for tangible performance (why dual core ipads are a lot faster than low end android with crappy 8 core)
shrug.
I use my 128 GB Duet daily. I have had no problems with how fast it works. It turns on a bit slower but that is only a few seconds. Compared to my Flex 5 with an I5.
There is a reason people like Chromebooks. No way would 32 GB be enough with Windows 10.
I would like to have a bigger screen the Duet is only 10 " but I do not want three pounds.
I hope they will come out with a new Duet with a 12" screen. Better memory eMMc is a bit slow but again I rarely have a problem. Only when I open more than 9 tabs in Chrome. As to Android I could not even have tabs so I would never do Android. I do wish Chrome would run My-Sword and a few other apps. But I have my S8 to run them.
Just got mine i ordered on tues at this price from the last post, works great the keyboard is nice, screen is clear, mainly got it for online shopping/browsing from my couch when i dont want to be in my office, seems like it'll work great for that. only concern i have is the hinge reviews but for $180 i'll be careful with it and hope it doesn't break lol.

Yeah it seems like mediatek chips are well optimized for some reason. Although without comparing these devices both side by side who knows.
The weak CPU is the Duet's downfall IMO, I'd kill for a Duet 2 with a beefed up CPU, even if they have to price it 350. And yep, 12". That might be too much to ask for the price sadly.
I started using a S7 (SD 865, 11"") with a KB accessory and I honestly think it could do double duty as my tab and laptop. When Samsung's s8 tabs come out I'll probably trade it for the 12" one.
Edit: My Dream, 12" Duet 2 with one of Mediatek's more powerful new chips. 399, it'll sell like hotcakes! Even 499 and I'd be down probably.

If its like older HP laptops that used to have hinge problems, the only possible way to prevent is to minimize the usage of the hinge(i.e. reduce opening/closing the lid) However to me that seems to defy the purpose of a 2 in 1...
So, I just received this version (stealth silver) today and I don't believe the keyboard palm rest is metal. It feels like plastic just like the bottom side. The lid is metal because it is cool to the touch. My unit was manufactured in December 2020 so maybe they changed it recently.
Overall, I really like this thing. I've owned several chromebooks over the years and even use a Chromebox as my desktop. This thing is snappy and the screen looks really nice. I recently had a 13.3 FHD QLED laptop but returned it. This screen is sharper than that.

Tried it. Doesn't stick. However, the magnet doesn't stick to the metal lid either, except for the places where the metal internals are near the edges. The palm rest isn't cool to the touch like the lid is.
I received mine yesterday and have been using it for the past day. The keyboard is okay - tough to type and I have to be deliberate to ensure the key type is registered. The trackpad and screen are amazing.
Just opened a few tabs on chrome - looks like it can handle general surfing and media consumption.

The palm rest has always been plastic. I had the original version for a short period just after release and can confirm this. The stealth silver color makes the palm rest to look like matal though. On the other hand, the shitty light titan color makes the matal top cover to look like plastic.

The reviews on the hinge breaking worry me.
Otherwise, the build is excellent.
I think the new color of Light Titan had an updated design. Still the reviews probably only represent a small amount failures in a huge user base. So I would not worry about this too much.
