This deal isn't exactly going to shatter the Earth, but if you are looking at getting a Roku Ultra, this is a good time. Deal is available at Amazon and Best Buy. This player seems to dip to $70 or so periodically.

It seems we don't take kindly to people who don't take kindly 'round here.
This was unfortunately the BF price last year. If you can hold off on purchase, and they're releasing a newer one this year, you can probably cop this for $50 later. Yeah saving $20 ain't no thing if you need it now....
Peacock and Vudu aren't available, easily, on the Fire TV 4K stick. Fire TV pulls in live programming to let you know what is currently on, and the Roku doesn't do that. No ethernet on the Fire TV 4K.

Like I said. I have learned my lesson with hbomax and now YouTube tv. Roku was the last platform to get hbomax and lost YouTube tv. It won't be the last time it happens. It's never going to happen to Android because it is the largest mobile platform in the world. No major company (except Apple) is going to risk not having their app not work on Android. It's your money, do what you want. But fool me twice.....
literally not the case: Disney+ launched on Roku prior to Chromecast. Apple+ launched on Roku prior to chromecast. Almost every major launch is on Roku prior to chromecast/Tivo device. You'll note that Android gets it early, but since these devices are build on android but not exactly android boxes they don't usually get functioning app until they revamp it for the chromecast or Tivo. I have a chromecast, amazon stick, and a Roku.

Roku is hands down the best of these 3. Least amount of crashes, most apps, and fastest load times.

If you're using this for Youtube Tv (not youtube which is differnet) then go with something different, but honestly Youtube TV sucks, Fubo is slightly cheaper and just as good.

I don't know what you mean by chromecast, but I am talking about android and android TV. Disney+ was definitely available on Android on day 1. Not sure about Android TV. But like I said, if Android is available you can sideload on Android tv. And funny how you averted the hbomax statement even though you were the one who brought it up. Roku is third in the pecking order behind Android and Apple in ecosystem. You are truly blinded by marketing if you can't see that.

And I don't believe it's possible for Roku express to add ethernet, but I could be wrong, because honestly I don't care.

HI,

I know I am joining the party late (TLDR) but I had two items:

1. I really like the idea of having an ethernet port. I have two older Rokus. The one that only has wifi does work with wifi, but the other that has ethernet and wifi, well, it just doesn't connect well to wifi. I suppose I could get one of those ethernet-to-micro-USB cables to allow the Google TV or Tivo Stream to be hardwired. Any luck with that?

2. I know Roku doesn't have a lot of content, but I do find a movie here and there on the Roku Channel (The Fugitive). Can I use the Google TV or Tivo Stream to access the Roku Channel app, or would I need to cast from the app on my phone?

Right now I'm only paying for Hulu and D+.

Thanks, Mark
