The case on Apple is $49.99 and the Charger is $39.99 so this is a good deal. I just dont get the ergonomics of the mag safe charger, is it like a charging pad with a magnet?
if you use a standard case, the magsafe may or may not stay on depending on how thick the case is. i use a 1mm thin case and i can use the magsafe charger. when i switch to my slightly thicker 1.5mm rubberized case, the magsafe is very weak which means if i move it, the magsafe will fall off.
if you use no case (you madman you!), the direct contact magsafe charger will stick on like a glue, the case isn't a required component.
