If you are on the fence, go for it. I've owned both the 12.5" Dewalt and Ridgid lunchbox planers and this thing blows them away. Compared to those planers, the dust collection is better, the hand crank adjustment is more solid, and the two speed finishing is a big plus. It feels like a professional machine.

I also own the stand, but wouldn't buy it again. In retrospect, given the small size of my shop, I would prefer to have a custom stand with storage and a height that is tailored to my space.

Same as hhunt32, I have been waiting for this to go on sale. I happen to see it (by accident when I was looking through my Amazon history) before this was posted to slick deals and ordered one immediately. Lowes and HomeDepot also dropped their price to $499. Lowe's near me had 7 yesterday. I went to order it and they had none in nearby store and they wanted $90 for shipping to send me one. So I ordered one from Amazon which has free shipping. Amazing deal. The portable table that goes with this is also on sale for $159. I highly recommend you order that too since the planer is over 100lbs.

I happen to see it (by accident when I was looking through my Amazon history) before this was posted to slick deals and ordered one immediately. Lowes and HomeDepot also dropped their price to $499. Lowe's near me had 7 yesterday. I went to order it and they had none in nearby store and they wanted $90 for shipping to send me one. So I ordered one from Amazon which has free shipping. Amazing deal. The portable table that goes with this is also on sale for $159. I highly recommend you order that too since the planer is over 100lbs.

Solid deal, grabbed this when it came up last year. Nice machine I've used it for big old reclaimed barn wood, super hard timber's and your general lumber and PT. Words great, make sure you get something for the exhaust a bag or a hose hook up!

Been lurking on this deal for a long time. I bought it from Amazon, not from ACME. ACME mislead me about delivery of a tool once, didn't ship for weeks and needed it a week after order. Not so with Amazon.

Lowe's has it online but it's sold out everywhere according to their site. There is the normal one and then the one bundled with extra blades. The bundle was on sale. It's says sale is supposed to run until 6/20 but I don't see how they all sold out that quick everywhere.
