been looking for a UPS mainly for router/modem. Any experience with this one and how is the run time?

This will really depend on your router and modem's power consumption. I have a 850 VA cyberpower UPS, it's super handy when you have rolling power blips/short outages due to storms. Keeps the current stable and your electronics going.

When I had an actual power outage, I think it lasted maybe an hour, possibly 45 mins, to just power the wifi before dying.

My advice: save your UPS to charge your cellphones and other important devices in an emergency

When my power goes out it knocks out the cable as well so even if I have the modem and Wi-Fi router connected to a backup I still have no internet

you can charge phones from portable battery packs, but you can't power routers and modem with those.

Router/modem is as important as phones these days when a lot of people are working from home.

To answer the runtime question, most modem and wifi router combinations should run a few hours on this.

A UPS is not meant to keep devices running for hours on end and there are better devices to charge your small electronics during a power outage.

This should run a consumer grade router and modem for a couple hours during a power outage.

Most telecommunication companies have generators or large UPS that keep connections alive during a power outage.

Well, I went through the snowpocalypse in Texas where I was out of power for nearly a week and water for half that time. Cell data service didn't work for the first two days, and internet was down for three. Burned through the battery packs, UPS, and then had to waste gas sitting in my driveway to charge my devices and heat myself!

So really it's priorities. UPS's are handy and I recommend them for everyone but it's not gonna work miracles. It was more useful to me when I had brief power blips and outages that kept my PC from turning off while playing Horizon Zero Dawn

Never experienced this on my end. Maybe the cable box is off hence but if your router is up and running the fiber/cable should still work.

So whats your point? I went through the exact same thing in Oregon during the same time. No power for a week. I wouldn't depend on a UPS to charge anything. Your comment isnt really relevant at all and is actually pretty bad advice pertaining to a UPS.

When my power goes out my cell tower goes out as well causing me to lose data service on my cellphone as well. I've been looking for one of these to keep my internet going. But from the comments it looks like I should probably find a better one.

Was thinking the same. Power banks are good enough for phones. Getting one for the modem/wifi router.
