How does this work? So you choose one category each month? Something is missing here.
When bill gets generated system recognizes automatically your TOP Category spend for the month and gives 5% cashback on those spends. You do not need to do anything. Everything else is 1% cashback.
Not sure if someone else asked this, but will citi do a hard inquiry or a soft pull for this card?
It's hard pull. Got confirmation from rep.
"Yes, it would be a hard pull if you apply for it currently. It won't be available for conversion until late July of this year. If you can wait that long then you may be able to convert without having that hard pull on your credit."
Has anyone tried product changing their Citi Double Cash card to this one?
Please check the below reply from Citi rep.

How many of you are going to convert Double Cash to this one in July? I wish Citi was able to combine existing credit cards so I can apply for this one, get the cashback, then close but combine credit line with the Double Cash card.
What do I look for in a credit card??
We need to get one (for hotels etc). We prob won't ever use it for normal purchases. Just kinda need one for RSVPs
If my "top" category is 20% of my expense. I will get 5% but all other is only 1% so for rest 80% is only 1% cashback. But citi double cash card gives flat 2% for all. I do not see benefit, unless I keep buying one category stuff only with this card and all other with citi double cash.
Use this card for whichever qualified category you spend highest in and use the rest on double cash.
