agreed, you might be able to save another few bucks if you wait for a better discount. I saw this cheaper various times like earth day and Black Friday. There was also some other EVSE post on here for like <$300, but I think that was lower amperage or a 6-50 plug only.

Edit: here it is, only 30 amp hardwired https://store.evsolutions.com/all...-call.aspx

If I don't currently have any wiring and will have to have it ran, should I have any preference on the outlet type or hardwired and why?

Get the outlet type. Preferably NEMA 14-50. This way you should be able use the mobile connector that comes with the car if need be. Like when the juice box fails to operate. If you go with hardwire, you are stuck with it.

Edit: Costco has Plug-in type juice box 40 for $599 and with $50 off of $500, you can get it for $549 + tax.

says only 20ft cable on Costco website, but on Amazon and Juicebox website I only see 25ft. Is the Costco version really only 20ft?

Yes, The version sold at Costco only has a 20 foot cable. EnelX makes this special version that is only sold by a few retailers. In all other respects it is the same.

I ordered this two weeks ago. It was supposed to arrive in 2 days but it was backordered. It took an extra 10 days to arrive, but they sent the one with the 25' cable. Other Costco reviews indicate customers received the 20' version... maybe I just got lucky.

That's interesting. When I bought my older version Juicebox from Costco back in 2019, it was shipped directly from EnelX if I remember correctly.

As far as I can tell, It did get shipped directly from EnelX. Unfortunately, it was DOA. I am now waiting for a replacement. Let's see if that comes with the 25' cable as well. Maybe the Costco reviewers just failed to measure the cord length before replying. Home Depot also lists a 20' version at a reduced price (but not as good as Costco's price)

I received the second unit which works. Unfortunately, it came with the 20' cord as advertised instead of the 25' cord on the DOA unit.
