16gb in dual channel, USB-C charging, backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, and that beast of a processor. This checks an awful lot of boxes if you can live with a mediocre screen.

Actually that is not the worse part. This has a Matte display with almost no reflection and due to that, it is pretty okay in brightly lit room. The bad thing is the color gamut coverage, which is just 58%-60% sRGB. This display can't be used for any photo or video editing work. Anything other than that, it's pretty okay.

Dreadful screen for sure. An external monitor is one answer, but then I can't justify the cost of this.
I don't like the new "Anti-Glare Display" trend. Nowadays it's very hard to I'm one of the few that prefers glossy or semi-glossy screen. The screen looks so much better than matte.

I have insider information on Lenovo's new coupon code that's due to arrive in about 3 weeks. It's THINKJULY.
Shouldn't it be THINKJULDEAL ? Smilie

Matte displays are popular for business laptops

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this should run minecraft or roblox, right? Looking for a laptop for my 13yo. He has a decent pc, but wants something portable to take to friends houses and such. No way am I paying the premium for a gaming laptop until prices come down.
Ryzen 4x00 series runs Minecraft great. Think of it as a great processor for general tasks that can also game. If your 13yo is like mine though, it won't be long before they want to do more gaming. At almost the same price point (if you roll in the rebate card) - this MSI at Newegg has a lot more gaming prowess (but not as much processing power.)

https://www.newegg.com/black-msi-...klink=true

Plus, your 13yo rolls up with the MSI gaming chassis and immediately gets some gaming cred. Pulling out this Lenovo (which, by the way, I do love this deal) screams "I got a hand-me-down laptop from my dad."

You can spend a little more and get even more laptop power, but in the 13yo, if I were going to drop $700 - I'd pick gaming over processing power.

look for COSTCO MSI gaming laptop deal, last time it was $600 only issue with gaming laptops are battery. 2hrs would be the max.

It will easily run minecraft and Roblox. I have a similar laptop and I play World of Warships and World of Tanks with no problems.

Hey everyone,

I bought the last Thinkbook deal that came across and can only say DO NOT BUY IT.

Lenovo should be ashamed of themselves, the keyboard on this is USELESS. I can't type a single sentence without it missing keystrokes. The key travel and feedback is comically poor, my fingers hurt within minutes of trying to type on it. Even hunt and peck typists will find this keyboard challenging and fatiguing.

The screen is mediocre as well but far from the worst I have ever used, I could live with it if the keyboard didn't absolutely suck.

The battery is also MUCH smaller than what I am used to.

And to top that all off, the model I got was defective. It would randomly shut off if you tapped it in the right spot on the case so it 100% was going back.

Such a piece of crap. The only thing they got right was the case and the speakers for a laptop that size.

No.

And Teams video conferencing or Edge/Chrome web browsing will suck down any modern laptop battery.

You MIGHT get 8 hours continuous use if you can find a model pushing 80wh with a low power screen and cpu.

Shows as $772.85 in cart after coupon applied. How are you able to get it for $653?

Edit: I missed that there's no "e" in "june" in the coupon code. THINKJUNDEAL. Serves me right for manually typing it instead of copy/paste.
Got this for $584 with 10% student discount

You can edit anything you want, you are referring to color adjustments. Editing is not only color adjustments, so if I am "editing" a video, I don't mostly really care about colors, and honestly if you are oscar worthy editor or director, you should be working with a much better computer on a large desktop screen, which by the way you can just add to this and get the colors, if I am not mistaken?
