Except that is simplifying something complex as poorly as the post your responded to.

The model linked to has a processor that is fairly comparable (to the 1160); it will be faster for software than can leverage 8 cores instead of 4, but slower if software leverages 4 or less cores. The intel also has Thunderbolt whereas the AMD version does not, which is very useful for docks with more throughput than your average USB-C or external GPUs; one could be used for productivity and the other for gaming.
How is this not the top comment here?...

Any thoughts between this Thinkpad vs Dell XPS 13 9310 or the HP Spectre X360 14?

how's the cpu? 4 cores seems pretty ... lacking for that much office/dev work
People care too much about the number of cores. 4 cores at a higher clock (8 MT) will run all non-CPU intensive apps, and will have pretty good to great performance on the vast majority of CPU-intensive apps. Only running multiple CPU-intensive apps at once, or apps which can take advantage of all 8 cores on an octocore would see a boost, and that boost would not be double.

Personally looking forward to using a 12th gen intel ultraportable with external enclosure for better gaming than a gaming laptop and better portability and up to 15-20 hours battery life.

$1100 for a low-performance 4-core CPU and no dedicated graphics? Also for a laptop over $1k you would also expect a 1TB SSD or higher. If you look carefully at the specs this is not that good of a "deal." For this price you can get a Ryzen 5800H + 3060 that will blow this out of the water. I guess what you are paying for here is the slim chasis that will throttle your performance anyways
I agree. Glad someone here is using common sense…

Living under a rock? AMD beats Intel in so many ways now.
Single core on mobile intel has slight edge esp in game benchmarks overall. I got two asus gaming laptops one with 4 core intel 11370H and 8 core ryzen 5900hs. I feel the Intel is just snappier. Also have intel 9900k and ryzen 3700 desktops and i feel the Ryzen has a slight edge in that generation. Ryzen has the edge on battery generally, but still relies on how the laptop is integrated by the manufacturer. For laptops anyways there really isn't a bad choice.

Guy on the plane had this next to me. It's a ultra portable Hall of Fame contender. Alongside the VAIO X and MacBook 12inch in their day. I'm tempted and I don't need a new laptop.

Received mine. I am so impressive! The build quality is unbelievable and so light!

I wish this laptop has a 8 cores processors.
