Made in China, these soft metal, finger pinching Knipex Cobra copycats missed copying the handles for finger clearance.

Me, I would save my coins for a sale on the real deal.... but, for the homeowner and occasional usage, these will probably be fine.

Not really [vise] grip by design, having a full set of Knipex Cobra, the 7" that opens to at least 1.5" and besides being great for small items, has been quite useful for tight spaces and larger items that are not too tight.

Not understanding why people compare this with knipex, which is 4-5 times more expensive. As a weekend diyer, I should do fine with this and have no need for a tank quality plier!

In b4 you're called an Irwin shill for saying that.

FWIW - Lowe's everyday price on 2-pack 8-in & 10-in Irwin GrooveLock is $20 https://www.lowes.com/pd/IRWIN-Qu...1003142306

Mainly because Irwin tries to compare. Meanwhile, Knipex are about double at Menards when on sale, but besides no comparison, worth every penny.... But, I can understand not being affordable for some that may have change left over to buy bandaids. Smilie .... Seriously, do not get your fingers or the fat of your palm between the handles, as there is no clearance if they slip.
