Reviews state it's hard to get drinkable water and food is terrible


Also, please DO NOT book resorts on a third party website. You guys ever heard about "expedia" hotel rooms? You'll get the same treatment at a resort.

Thanks for the heads up. We went to the adults only one in Punta Cana and were really happy with the experience. Previously, Melia and Excellence both good too.

I've been here twice (travel agent familiarization trips). A few things to keep in mind: Puerto Plata is the North coast, technically the Atlantic, not Caribbean. Lifestyle is part of a massive complex dominated by timeshares. The super low all inclusive rates are designed to fill the hotel rooms with Americans and Canadians to sell timeshares to. You will harassed repeatedly to attend the sales presentation. The beach is not great here.
The good: Colonial old town of Puerto Plata is great. Excellent charter fishing. This was pre covid but the buffet at Lifestyle has the best pasta station of any resort I've been to.

I was just in the DR at Hyatt Zilara. The DR is safe as long as you don't go looking for trouble.

This is mentioned in many of the negative reviews. DONT GET THE FREE GIFT.

I highly recommend skipping this deal!! I stayed at this resort a few years ago, it's a timeshare that has different tiers. You cannot upgrade when you are there. My room no joke flooded and they acted like no big deal, I had food poisoning two days of the seven, it's located far from the airports, you can only eat at the buffet, I would go on… but unless you are a complete Red Roof Inn kind of standard, you will be very disappointed! You can't even use the daybed loungers on the beach unless you have a timeshare wristband.

Did not like DR. Hounded incessantly for everything all the time - you can not get any relaxation. Sargasum in punta cana stinks and piles up everywhere. Macao beach was the best part but it wasnt easy to get to...
