It's not even in stock yet. Same price at Best Buy but it's not in stock there either. Specs look good except for the tiny battery given it's screen size.

It's called Pre-order and in my Title, the delivery dates are clearly mentioned. It was on sale for the first time in Newegg for the first launch at $582 including shipping but after that, it went out-of-stock everywhere and now Newegg price is way higher. June 26 is not a bad timing considering the market scenario. If you want to purchase it, may be a good time to order. If you wait till it becomes available, the chances are it will be out of stock in few hours and then will come back with far higher price from the 3rd party sellers.

That display and small battery ruins the deal for me. For $699 with 300 nits 100%sRGB display with bigger battery would have been awesome.

Actually I have seen the last year's version with Ryzen 7 4700U and this same 37 WHr battery and due to Ryzen's better efficiency, it actually goes over 6 hours with normal usage easily, including some heavy tasks in office, using for Excel Number crunching.

Regarding the display quality, you know the situation at this price range, especially for Ryzen laptops. Even premium Laptops like HP Envy 15, come with a 250-nits 45% NTSC display by default and only HP site allows you to update it to a better panel by paying $100. Dell has completely stopped offering any better panel with Ryzen. Same case for Lenovo.

And not just that, no Wifi 6 which is extremely important for fastest internet speeds. New technology is here, and this laptop has the older 802.11ac with 1x1 LMAO

I am a little out of touch. My Cable provided (required to get wifi and cable in the same box) router uses only the 2.4 GHz band.
1) Would 2x2 wifi 6 be a benefit for me?
2) I was thinking I might daisy chain a better router but no experience with doing so.

Thanks and repped in advance!

Are you sure this is listed on Best Buy's site ?

No, it won't. You first need a Wi-fi 6 capable router. And people here exaggerate Wi-Fi 6 a lot. For normal hone usage, a dual band Wi-Fi AC router is more than enough.
Anyway, for you, I will recommend to get a dual band 5 GHz router and they're pretty cheap, you can grab one within $20 bucks if you look for deals.

1- No

2- As for upgrading your router it depends on what router you have now, what internet speed you are paying for, what equipment you are currently using, and if you are currently satisfied with the speed and connectivity. Don't throw money into it right now if you don't require it.

As for the laptop in this deal, it's not a bad but I was just pointing out that the manufacturer cut a few corners, and for those concerned about buying something future proof for the next few years where fastest internet speed and strong connectivity is very important, then this is not the laptop you should consider.

The WI-Fi chip is not soldered and down the line you can spend $20 to upgrade the network card to a Wi-Fi 6 card, when you are ready to upgrade to a WI-Fi 6 router. Does that sounds to much for you?

This laptop has 1 antenna supporting 1 data stream, unless you can prove otherwise. So unless you plan to rip apart the screen bezel to add another, you will be limited regardless. bulb

Thanks for the info.
Sadly, our cable provider (Cincinnati Bell) does not have a newer or better router/cable box combo. We no longer have an option to provide our own sep router for their internet.

With so many channels beginning to stream their own shows with subscription service, leaving cable doesn't do much good. Still have to pay for internet from someone and more and more subscriptions as time goes by which makes cost about the same or more as getting both services bundled. We already use Netflix and have Prime, and the latest $2.19 per month Hulu deal in effect. /rant
