The primary constructive takeaway from my post was intended as: S10>>N200 and don't fall for 5G hype. You seem to hope that T-Mobile is doing something special with their 5G deployment... and while it differs from what Verizon does, that doesn't actually produce a better result nor could it meet the expectations built around 5G. I'll explore that below in case you're interested(?).

The distinction which launches the article I shared (which did center on Verizon) is the same for T-Mobile: the form of 5G which would provide the benefits touted by some sources is exceptionally rare. T-Mobile gives their own version of this which is fairly telling:

T-Mobile's TLDR is that:

AT&T is an open liar (i.e. 5GE is faux 5G)
Verizon has some work to do on expanding mmWave 5G
(And by extension delivering on the promise of 5G)
Please don't take notice that T-Mobile is also not delivering mmWave 5G
(Basically they talk a lot of trash about mmWave without highlighting the distinction on what it delivers: true, low-latency, gigabit 5G capacity)

While T-Mobile touts the expansion of mid-band 5G, you will notice no mention of a huge mmWave deployment of their own... because they don't have one. More specifically they have very little spectrum in that space and no significant plans for deploying it beyond the few high-density scenarios which will distinguish 5G for years to come: stadiums and high-density urban centers like the middle of Times Square.

Instead what T-Mobile has done is dedicated more of their existing 4G LTE network to 5G in the same way they quickly repurposed their 3G network to 4G in a bid to maintain relevance in the 4G era. At the time, they lacked the desirable low-band real estate purchased by Verizon, but saw they could maximize the efficiency of the bandwidth they had. The way that plays out similarly today is a 5G network which provides an incremental efficiency improvement over the prior network configuration and whose growth is built upon mid-band spectrum acquired from Sprint.

The OnePlus N200 is probably better from the standpoint it has a Snapdragon and more importantly 1080p screen. It's also an IPS screen on the Nord.

The A32 only has a 720p screen and Mediatek processor.

The A32 is on back order for online and probably phone orders. You find this out when you try to complete the order (so sure its available but not immediately). The retail stores have stock on a hit or miss basis. The store near me had it in stock. So if anything this new option helps people wanting another option if they are going to order online or over the phone because otherwise they have to wait a few weeks for the A32 to ship. I looked into this a couple weeks ago and ironically I wanted them to send me a OnePlus (not sure it was this exact model) and I would pay the difference, if any, if they couldn't deliver an A32 in 3-5 days time. They had no flexibility though. Anyway, I didn't purchase anything. Now I have to rethink offer with this specific option.

perfect timing. i've been planning to trade in my another alcatel goflip 3 for another a32. a32 is a fine entry level phone, and the camera is fantastic. but i've the s20 FE 5g for all that. and have wanted a oneplus device for a long while. since a decade ago i'd signed with Tmobile byod with the "ONE" and loved it(still own it), then got the follow up oneplus 2 handset was sorely disappointed and havent gained confidence to use them again. just had goflip returned to me today from a member on my family plan. really looking forward to trying another oneplus device. every phone i've bought in the last 10 years oneplus has been the runner up. and i've watched their last half dozen flagship kill it spec wise, always at the front of pack with new features, for better or worse. keeping expectation low, but at almost zero cost. confident it'll outperform the cricket goflip trade-in.

Try 9 lines and $120 per month, so you're spot on. I also have a legacy Verizon account and both serve as compliments to the occasional XFINITY Mobile, Consumer Cellular, or whatever since outside the rare prepaid handset deal (like my current Pixel 4 from XFINITY Mobile) most of the handset deals come by way of my prepaid accounts. As long as I leverage those at least once or more a year I'm likely offsetting the prepaid bill while also reaping the benefit of being a 1st class citizen on their respective towers.

Verizon will eventually rationalize their low-band to catch up with T-Mobile. The irritant in all of this is really even the use of the term 5G. There's a good argument to be made that anything other than mmWave 5G shouldn't receive the title. Low-band and mid-band 5G definitely have value, as you've noted, and do represent capacities at or above the current 4G LTE deployment speeds... but single digit latency and multi-gigabit speeds exist only in the realm of mmWave 5G. Unfortunately even with AT&T's 5GE branding there's isn't even the base consistency as there was in the 4G days to distinguish 4G LTE ("true" 4G) from 4G GSMA (which was just 3G on steroids... or what AT&T and T-Mobile called 4G for some timeLMAO). The same story exists today for 5G except it should last much longer because, to your observation, mmWave is expensive and is a solution seeking a problem (again, mostly Superbowl Sunday at the stadium and Times Square, and maybe some fixed wireless internet down the line).

Whatever phone you get, consider setting up your Pixel 2XL as a monthly picture backup device using the lifetime "high quality" setting Google has committed to supporting for that device.
I do something similar with my 1st generation Pixel XL (though it has the added benefit of lifetime "original" quality.

I'd say just set a threshold for yourself for a Pixel 3 XL or Pixel 4 XL (or even a Pixel 5 as we approach the launch of the Pixel 6) and jump when you have the chance!

What if I already have a 5G phone (iPhone 12) on monthly payments on my only line. Can I still do this or does the line have to be eligible for an upgrade?

doesn't matter what you have. just pay it off in full then you're eligible to upgrade.
