This looks like a very nice quality set and will be great for those who hold sentimental value. I also don't see a kid preferring this vs an xbox, playstation, or Nintendo console.

Retro arcade games are fine but I have no interest in playing 2600 games, especially not for $400. If they had marketed this as a Jaguar mini with a large library of Jaguar cart and CD-ROM games and made the price more reasonable I might be interested since I had missed out on the Jaguar back in the day (and 3DO mini anyone?). But the value with this VCS 800 just ain't there - you can get a large library of licensed arcade games with a NEO GEO mini, Super Retro-cade, and pre-order the new Taito Egret II mini and you'll still come out ahead
