That is a question loaded with variables. Anyways I will give my data points as a reference. For me here, 5G is a couple miles away on TMO and not that great. However, on my newer devices with the Standalone 5G Sim Card (VS say another same phone that i just popped in old SIM in instead). . .the phones with SA sims get 100-150mbps, where as the non SA sim phones gets 60-100 normally, all other things equal.

Another quirk is the 5G home internet Gateway I recently got. It seems to be non SA 5G, further evidenced by the primary signal always being set at 4G no matter how you twerk the online settings (other than shutting of 4G altogether, which shuts down communication in the end). And keep in mind I never get better than 'Good" signal on the app (There are higher VG and Excellent ratings). . .but when I am at "Good" it pulls from B2 4G or B66 4G. . .and Gives me 50-100Mbps hardwired. . .and when I twist the gateway slightly to where it gives me "Weak" signal. . .it seems to pull off the N71 5G tower and my speeds jump up to 100-200mbps hardwired. For reference, my 4G towers are just under a mile away due east, and the n71 5G tower is roughly 2 miles away and to the NE, so it's not that hard to try and exclude one or the other. . .

If you're planning on sticking with T-Mobile for the next 2 years, this is a great deal. They're giving $800 for Pixel 3s and S8s!

No, the phone can't have any cracks on the screen and must be functional.

Off topic, T mobile signal is not great here, but they do have one of the best customer service. With them being one of the better 5G network, will that improve signal strength? Or 5G means you get faster speed if you get good coverage?

I will stay with them if they can improve their signal strength in the near future.
You can get one of two things to help... One is an asus wifi router that you connect your phone to for improved signal. Or they have a signal booster that you can request to place in your home. Call customer service and ask, they will help you.

I took advantage of this deal and need to share my experience, as its a pretty sweet deal.

I own 2 Note9 phones with individual lines, have a 3 line but not involved with this deal. Was able to trade-in the OWNED Note9's for $800 credit each, upgrade to S21 and owe nothing for them (applied via 24 credits), plus 2 FREE Samsung watches ($13/month for service) and only had to pay tax of $170 for everything. Next day shipping at no cost, so will arrive tomorrow.

Sweet deal if you ask me, own newer products from Day 1.
Did you do it in store?

I went into the store today with a Pixel 3a (6/17) and they told my that since im on the Magenta Max 55+ plan I will only get $500.
I went on Tmobile chat and they are telling me I can get the $800. I went into my T-Mobile app and they are offering me $800 when I do the Shop->Upgrade and enter my trade in.

I'm still skeptical but would like some further input from someone.

As a Note fan (using the pen to replace any physical paper option to take notes, mainly for work), I'd like to have different opinions on Note 20 Ultra (pen easy to carry and with bluetooth advanced features like taking photos, less bulk, last phone with MST) vs Galaxy S21 Ultra (better cameras, better 120Hz, better battery, better phone overall).

What would be your phone of choice? I could actually keep my Note 10 Plus but it's getting depreciated and I feel I should take advantage of this promo.

Thanks

Gonna wait on a similar deal when the S22 is out. Hoping to be able to trade in my S10 for this sort of deal.

Sure one plan with plus promo qualifies ?
I'm in the same boat
No it does not. Just spent an hour on the phone. They offered to move me to majenta plan which qualifies but will loose kickbacks. So decided to not change plans.

Do you have to mail in your phone to them? How does the trade in work if not done in person.
Yes. They send you pre-paid label. you will need to mail in your phone ( you can keep the accessories including cable and adaptor ). you have 14 days to mail your trade-in device after receiving the phone.

I think the trade-in phone must be active on the account and here is why. I have 2 lines that I plan to trade in, one with Note 10 and the other is iPhone 7+ but I plan to send in 2 of A71 for trade. During the online trade-in process they give me $800 off for Note 10 but $500 off for iPhone 7+. Hence I got $300 less on the 2nd line. After swap iphone with A71 then I got $800 for the trade value.
Quote from parana :
not in my case since the trade value is different between the active phone on my account (iphone 7+ for $500 off) and the trade-in phone (A71 for $800 off)
Do people really don't know how to read???

This is from the OP:
$800 off:

* Apple: iPhone 11 Series, X, XR, XS, 8 Series, SE2
* Samsung: A71, S10, S20 5G, Note 20 5G Series, S20 FE 5G, Note 10, S9, Note 9, S8 Series, Note 8
* Google: Pixel 4, 4a, 3, 3a Series
* OnePlus: 8 5G, 8T+, 7, 7 Pro, 7T, 7T Pro
* LG: V60, V50, G8

$500 off:

* Apple: iPhone 7, 6, 6s
* Samsung: A51, S7, S6 Series
* Google: Pixel, Pixel 2
* OnePlus: 6, 6T
* LG: V40

A71 gets you 800, iphone 7 (all variations) gets you 500. It has nothing to do with your phone being active or not.

Man I wish this works on my simple choice family plan. It's old plan, I know, but I'm hoping they make it applicable. I need to get rid of my old note 8.

Didn't see an option to do it online (I'm on the amplified plan). Did it through chat and traded in two of my a71 5g phones.

Yes you mail it in. They evaluate it, and if nothing wrong with it, give full quoted value for it.
What if they deny full value?? Can you cancel the deal??
