I'm a former Sprint customer. When I try to log in at T Mobile, it redirects me to a Sprint branded login and doesn't give me the option to try to get this. I have the T-Mobile Unlimited Freedom on my bill. It's only giving me a $500 off offer for adding a line and nothing for just changing. If I could get the phone for no cost, I'd do it. I'm rocking an LG G8 and the upgrade would be great. Oh well.

No, the phone can't have any cracks on the screen and must be functional.
So loophole is find someone on sprint service, add your unlocked phone and add insurance. Get screen fixed for $29 and then cancel line

Yes. I referenced P11 promo code and they knew exactly what I was looking for and assured me I was eligible.
I hope you added a line so you can qualify for the $800, otherwise if you didn't add a line, you will only get $500 no matter what an agent told you. T-Mobile agents 90% of the time mislead customers about their promos. Below is the fine print of the P11 promo:
"If you cancel your line before receiving 24 bill credits, you may owe up to the full value of your device (e.g., $799.99 - Galaxy S21 5G 128GB); if cancelling your account, you can contact us first to instead make discounted monthly balance payments. Tax on pre-credit price due at sale. Limited time offer; subject to change. Qualifying credit, Magenta MAX line & trade-in required. If you've cancelled lines in past 90 days you may need to reactivate them first. In stores & con customer service calls, $30 assisted or upgrade support charge may be required. Up to $800 via trade-in credits and bill credits; must be active and in good standing to receive credits; allow 2 bill cycles. Max 4/account. May not be combinable with some offers or discounts."

Unfair?!?!??! Since the Roman Empire Mothers day has been #1 for sales on gifts on your SO... at last WE Fathers get a little love.

Worst case scenario, I will sue them. I can't imagine a big company like tmobile won't stand behind what their reps promised their customers (and it's documented). The rep even pasted the promo in writing for me and told me exactly how much in credit I will be getting per month when I'm trading in my a71 phones(which does add up to 1600). Regardless if I was truly eligible for the 800 or not, I'm optimistic and will challenge as high as I need to go to. Only time will tell.

Been a tmobile customer for 15 years and I've never had any unsolved issues with talking to supervisors of claimed promises from their reps.

Really, T-Mobile customer service is great? They owe me $1100 at least for a messed up billing with two lines and their phone bill credits. This is an issue for a long time and I have been working with then over several months for bill adjustments. They promise but do not deliver anything.
Never had an issue. Try resolving with tforce on Twitter or via the chat if calls don't get what you want. What other service gives away free lines yearly? I have 10 lines and pay less than 250 a month with two EIP included in that. Free cell spot for my house internet and free international. I think you need to try harder or goto a store if need be. For 6 years I've always gotten what I want from them in bill credits especially.

Just called T-Mobile again and at first the agent said my plan qualifies for the $800 off. I have a SIMPLE CHOICE plan. I pointed the agent to the promo fine print and asked him to tell me which plans qualify for this promo and that's when he confirmed the simple choice plans do NOT qualify. Only MAGENTA plans or if you add a line. Make sure you check 2 and 3 times if you truly qualify for this promo

We actually did the trade in for the Mother's day deal. To us it was the better deal because we didn't need a Magenta Max line. (We traded in an iphone 8 and got $800 credit). I was hoping to be able to trade in my s10+ for a similar deal this father's day but all the ones that discounts $800 requires a new line or Magenta Max plan so technically, IMO we fathers still got little love this father's day.

Yep you will get $500. System is automated so will be based in your plan. Reps are more times than not wrong and inaccurate.

I have been with T-Mobile for 17 years since they were VoiceStream and yes I have had all my issues resolved, but some took over 6 months speaking to 10+ supervisors/loyalty department managers. I have no problem challenging any company, but I don't think it's worth $300 (I can get the $500 for sure) to go back and forth for months because it just drains you and I would rather do things I enjoy vs be on the phone for hours over multiple days.
I am not attacking you, but have you actually sued anyone? I know people all the times say "I will sue", but if you look into it, it's only worth it if we are talking thousands not $300. You have charges which you have to pay like court fee, transportation, lawyer (if you get 1 and I am talking about minor fees which the losing side won't cover), etc.
Life has taught me that stress and frustration will cost me a lot in the long term. I would rather sign up for a deal I really qualify for. If you do your homework and really check, you will see that older plans like the simple choice do not qualify and it's documented. So if you do take T-Mobile to court, they will have printed documents that the court will honor vs what an agent told you over the phone.
