That is a question loaded with variables. Anyways I will give my data points as a reference. For me here, 5G is a couple miles away on TMO and not that great. However, on my newer devices with the Standalone 5G Sim Card (VS say another same phone that i just popped in old SIM in instead). . .the phones with SA sims get 100-150mbps, where as the non SA sim phones gets 60-100 normally, all other things equal.

Another quirk is the 5G home internet Gateway I recently got. It seems to be non SA 5G, further evidenced by the primary signal always being set at 4G no matter how you twerk the online settings (other than shutting of 4G altogether, which shuts down communication in the end). And keep in mind I never get better than 'Good" signal on the app (There are higher VG and Excellent ratings). . .but when I am at "Good" it pulls from B2 4G or B66 4G. . .and Gives me 50-100Mbps hardwired. . .and when I twist the gateway slightly to where it gives me "Weak" signal. . .it seems to pull off the N71 5G tower and my speeds jump up to 100-200mbps hardwired. For reference, my 4G towers are just under a mile away due east, and the n71 5G tower is roughly 2 miles away and to the NE, so it's not that hard to try and exclude one or the other. . .

If you're planning on sticking with T-Mobile for the next 2 years, this is a great deal. They're giving $800 for Pixel 3s and S8s!

No, the phone can't have any cracks on the screen and must be functional.

I got the deal yesterday at my local TMobile. I don't see the 800 credit on my account yet, and the rep said it would appear after around 1 billing cycle. Is this typical? There's literally no documentation on the 800 dollar credit as of now.
My understanding of the deal is that at some point within the next few billing cycles, the credit will begin to appear, split up over the next 24 months once the credit first appears. It's basically a deal to keep us as customers for the next 2 years.

It's sad when I wouldn't even trade up from my S20FE even if it was free. S21 doesn't support SD card anymore. It's amazing when they release a worse phone

I just finish with T-Mobile chat. We qualified for the free Samsung S21 5G phone but I didnt like I had to give my credit card information but the representative said the $800 credit will be applied to out account after the phone was sent it in. we just got a notification that the phone of been processed to be shipped. Hopefully there wont be any issues after I return the S8 for the applied $800.00. We will see.

So they had you pay the entire retail, and are giving you a credit for the entire price on your account?

@Crossbay explains it better "the credit will begin to appear, split up over the next 24 months once the credit first appears."

You only pay taxes on the sale of two phones...which still sucks. ..one would think that since Tmobile is giving 24 monthly credits....the taxes would be paid monthly on the a
mount credited....but noòooo....you pay that up front....then after 2 to 3 billing cycles you will see the credits kick in ....we did the deal during mother's day $800 for each of our S9+ ..... when usually carries are doing buy one get one half off...to me it was a great deal considering Samsung will quit doing support for the 9+ ....coverage has been WAY better than the Att bs I had....

So this doesn't apply to sprint customers? Booo
Works for Sprint customers also, even mentions the "specific" Sprint plans that it covers. Details of the deal are important. Not every line plan type T-Mobile or Sprint is eligible.

Ok, listen up. I chatted with them online and they said the reason it's not showing up is because with the online order process you can only trade in the phone you have on your line. And the phones on my line are a ZTE Max XL and a LG G7 ThinQ. If I want to trade in a phone that I have just laying around, I'll have to get in touch with their Telesales team who'd be able to manually place the order on my behalf. And I'm a Sprint customer btw.

Wish they'd let you just do it online with phones that aren't activated, but oh well.

ya, cool, that's how it worked for me. I paid the tax, and I think I actually paid for the first months installment, or something. was around $60 that I dished out. And already got it today even though it said they were on backorder

So I'd double check with them when you do this but when I asked them about it for the mother's day promotion they said that ONLY Sprint phones could be traded in period. I was told T-Mobile doesn't have that limitation. I had to convert my parent's account to T-Mobile so that the Boost phone I bought could be traded in as they could/would not do it for me while the account was still Sprint. They kept telling me the system wouldn't accept the IMEI as it was coming up as not a Sprint phone.

so I'm on the normal military plan, have 4 lines.
I see the $500 deal when I shop, but someone in this thread posted that you can get the 800 off if you add a new line.. does anyone know if that's true?
