Thanks, OP! I just ordered one.
I picked one up a few weeks ago from Costco (it came with 250 nits screens and 12 GB memory), and while I love everything about the laptop, I wished for a brighter screen and more memory. Your post is an answer to my prayer. And getting a pen is an added bonus.

That is the problem with the HP Envy x360 15z Ryzen models. the 400 nits Panel option is only available when you buy it directly from HP. All the other resellers like Costco or BestBuy, only sell the default 20-nits display version. It was the same in the 2020 model as well.
Look for something with a dedicated GPU. Even a basic GTX 1650 will provide far better Video editing performance for applications like Premiere Pro and VEGAS PRO. This may be good for some casual 1080P Video editing.
Returned my 5800H Omen and seriously considering this one with the surprisingly fast ship time. (If they ship on schedule, Omen was delayed 3 times.)
This checks most of the boxes. Price is higher than I'd prefer for something without a dGPU, but that's the market right now. 4.11 lbs is main thing stopping me - seems high for a U series cpu and igpu. Anyone know if that's system weight alone, or includes the weight of the power brick?
