I traded in an old ass 9.7 ipad last time. The trade in department didn't accept it but Samsung manually pushed it through for me, I didn't have to contact them.

This was the email.

"Trade-in chargeback update

We are happy to inform you that there will not be any chargeback related to your trade-in order #xxxxxxxxxxx . No further action is needed at this point."

Chiming in here that they accepted my Gen 3 9.7 iPad for the full trade-in amount via email. It took them 14 days to finally get back to me after they received it.

Samsung is so shady with how they handle the advertised pricing on trade ins. They should get dinged.

BTW samsung ecommerce support is still utter trash. I ordered a Tab A7 that came in with the box completely crushed. They shipped it with no packaging padding. Of course it was damaged and only recourse is to return it for a refund. They don't do replacements. The stupid support person wasted my time and transferred me to warranty instead. Hilarious

Good to know - I submitted my 2nd gen 9.7 ipad and received an email that they received it on 7/6, but have not received a confirmation of the trade in value yet. It's been over 14 days. I wonder if they have a backlog or something.

Edit: just chatted with CSR, they are approving a one time exception to the trade-in charge back.

So I got my trade in back. In a damn envelope, with no charger or the box I sent it in with. So fair warning if you do a trade in only send the device and nothing more. Yes I could have contacted support, but I just got off a 3 month lingering support call over a Samsung stove they couldn't fix nor exchange until they finally gave a full refund. At this point I'm looking to do business elsewere. Kinda makes me sad because I like their products, and own a alot. I highly recommend their vacuums and the tablet is really nice.
