My rachio controller is in the side of my house. I enjoy being able to change the run times from the comfort of my bed. It auto ups the run times in the summer and scales down in the other seasons. it also won't run in the morning if rain is in the forecast or if it is too windy. If I moved to a house without one I would snatch this deal in a heartbeat.

I wish the 8 zone is on sale as well. 16 is an overkill for my yard

For those who questioned why do we need WiFi for a sprinkler unit, I want to control even when I am away. I even use 1 zone to fill drinking water for my chickens. You can do a lot with 16 zones. I used this because I like to be able to turn on and off while I was traveling in Europe. I am so glad I bought this system 3 years ago.

This is inferior to the one at Costco right besides the difference in zones? I read the Costco version has some sort of map you can use. Anyway good deal for a 16 zone..

Good question. Not sure. The reviews on the rachio website look to talk about the satellite imagery mapping being available. I only see it described as V3 at both retailers. So maybe it's available on non-Costco versions just not advertised?

From what I read in a previous Rachio SD thread, it appears it may have just been a bug and the person got their map working for a non-Costco model. Food for thought.

I have (and have not yet installed) an 8 zone. This is a solid price if you need more than 8 zones. I am running mine to water my food forest and skipping any grass areas so I don't have to mow as much.
