70lbs would be more on the advanced side IMO, unless you are 6'8" and 350lbs. For kettlebells you would probably want a 45/50/55 as your heaviest if you aren't trying to be super serious and just in shape.
So as someone in their late 30s who hasn't worked out much since their 20s but genuinely wants to start again and is looking to acquire various weights, how useful is this and is this weight something I'd need a lot of time to work my way up to? I'm not sure how versatile this and would welcome some more knowledgeable opinions.

My goals are to be healthy in general, not look like a model. I'm planning to incorporate light to moderate weight lifting with regular walking, if that helps.

Trying to fight my urge to buy random things because they're a good deal but genuinely want to know if this is a good workout investment before I walk away from ignorance.
Get the 53, look up simple and sinister, and your body will thank you later

Good prices on some of the other weights also. I picked up a 28kg. Anything under $1/lb is a good price. Also, I find these bells to be good quality. Some people (in my own house!) complain about anything that's not RKC, but they work fine for me.

There is a chance that this item will come in a smashed up box and possibly damaged. Some people don't care but if you do then choose ship to store if available

70lbs would be more on the advanced side IMO, unless you are 6'8" and 350lbs. For kettlebells you would probably want a 45/50/55 as your heaviest if you aren't trying to be super serious and just in shape.

Thank you. This is kind of what my instincts were saying, and I appreciate the weight suggestions.

That sounds pretty conservative. I'm 6'2" 185lbs and I do 20 rep sets with 80lb kettlebell (this is for 2 arm swings)

I agree with them. Way to heavy. kB are very versatile. Check out a suspension trainer like TRX. Another very versatile piece of equipment.
