There's a review of the 1 TB S31 at Tom's Hardware, see https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...-us-market

Their Verdict:
Quote :
SK Hynix's Gold S31 is a top SATA SSD pick. With performance figures of up to 560MBps, it trades blows with some of the best and is competitively priced.

If u have a game console u can use the ones 250gb and up as a external drive for extra game storage. Another good use for them is if you have any android tvs or boxes you can use them on those for extra os storage to save more apps. I used all my lower sized drives this way so they didn't goto waste.
Buy an external enclosure with a USB 3 connection (cheap) or a USB Type-C connection that will support your drive, and you can make a big flash drive out of it - will be faster than a typical drive and a lot bigger.
I paid this much for a 120GB drive not long ago. I feel old.

What's the difference between S31 and P31. P31 has higher price than S31 a couple of weeks ago. Which version is better?

S31 is SATA III and P31 is NVME. For the same capacity, NMVE is faster and more expensive than SATA.

Does this clone, say, an Xbox drive?
I've used cloning software for PC hard drives but not gaming consoles

Do not buy this drive. There are other options out there like Samsung that's easy to use. Updating the firmware doesn't work. It is an upgrade to a standard hdd but I want it to update properly to make me feel like I'm in control and this doesn't. It makes me suspicious.

The Teamgroup price you've given is for $79.99, but when I went to Amazon the price listed was $99.99. Even at $79.99 I'd go with the Hynix for $89+ because it's a better quality drive and probably a little faster than the Teamgroup.

As for cloning software for an Xbox drive, you could try attaching an SSD and the Xbox drive to a PC and hope that the Hynix cloning software would allow you to transfer the contents of the Xbox drive to an SSD, but I'm not sure it would work.

So there are two other options. The first is to use an external SSD. Either buy a prebuilt llike the Samsung T5, where Samsung has already put an SSD in a USB 3 case, or buy an SSD and put it in a good USB 3 case. Then run your games from the external SSD. You'll get most of the speed increase of an SSD without the headache of having to open up your Xbox and change your HD.

The second option is to go online and see what everybody else does in your situation. I went to Yahoo and typed in: internal xbox one x hd I found lots of articles with specific instructions for doing what you want to do. Here are two, see https://www.pcsavants.com/tech-ti...placement/ and https://betanews.com/2018/01/04/u...-2tb-sshd/ There are others as well. Best wishes!

Half of the memory is made by Hynix and other half is made by Micron, yes Samsung is there but that is not in Server Space or in PCs. Lot of memory branded by others is actually Hynix inside. It may not be as good as Samsung but Hynix is as best as one can go at non premium price. I have failed memory chips and rarely some failed SSDs. There was on from Samsung also.
