I'm waiting for a deal on the Plus version of this 2021 tablet. It has 4 GB of RAM instead of 3 GB and adds wireless charging.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F6FYN6B

Interested to see if you can add a Trade-in on the web (save 20% and currently offering $30 more for my last generation 10" Fire Tablet) and then order with Alexa?

It looks like you can still load the Google Play Store on this new version of the tablet:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beC8NlF0H2w

I mostly use mine for consuming content bought on Amazon. Prime Video, Audible and a ton of paid apps that were free back in the long gone era of the Free App per Day for their app store. Kindle books with lots of graphics work better than on my Paperwhite.

Added to cart with Alexa and it shows the $70 discount but doesn't credit me for my 20% trade in or the $15 credit for using Amzn Photos. Can't use the $10 Discover promo either.

If you want one of the other colors:

Alexa, order a Denim Fire HD 10 Tablet.
Alexa, order a Olive Fire HD 10 Tablet.
Alexa, order a Lavender Fire HD 10 Tablet.

i had the old one n this new one is way better.. No lag while surfing the web at all.. it's much smoother because of the extra ram.
RAM makes a huge difference in web browsing experience. It's especially true with Chrome, which is known to be a RAM hoarder regardless of a platform it's running on. RAM is also very important for a battery life. With less RAM CPU has to redraw the animations and restart the processes more often, which negativity affects the battery life. I only hear positive reviews online from reviewers so far. Might buy a 4GB version soon.

Yep, the battery life is the best I have ever had on a tablet. It's been 4 days since my last charge n it's at 10hrs with 19% left. My tab s7 plus n iPad would've been dead.lol

I wonder how much better this works than the prior version I own. I have issues with that one constantly having wifi problems and app crashes that require a reboot. I do have the Play store loaded, which is required in my opinion. Amazon's store is inadequate. Not sure if that has any affect on it. Really just use it for a couple games in Android's ecosystem.

I also have an iPad Air. The fire is a quarter of the price but even making allowances for the price difference, the Amazon tablet is a disappointment. The base iPad is also much better.
I can offer comparisons as I own the current 10+, last gen 10, & did own previous gen 10 too. I also own a 2020 iPad Air.

I spent my first 24 hours with the 10+ very disappointed in the device. It was incredibly slow to come online with whatever updates Amazon sent its way. I bought at launch - arrived after pre-order - so maybe that contributed to the issues. There were also problems with Alexa & I didn't warm up to the size changes. Plus, it is an absolute fingerprint magnet like no other tablet I've ever used before now.

I used my last gen 10 almost daily to consume streaming content. I only occasionally read on it & rarely browsed or shopped on that device. For streaming, it was (still is) my favorite device. Sound & picture are great. The new device also has great sound & picture but seems a little laggy with streaming so I've just decided to keep my previous gen for that purpose.

For this device, I've found I enjoy reading on it. I do a lot of writing from reports & reviewing primary sources & the 10+ is convenient for me to access multiple documents quickly & still be able to see it when my eyes get tired. For my purposes, it is great but I don't think I will ever prefer it as a streaming device. I much prefer the last gen's wider screen.

Compared to the iPad air, none of my other devices really come close but I haven't asked them to try the same tasks. I do a lot of note taking with the pencil. I've done adobe creative cloud stuff. I've done a lot of document prep & sending & finishing. The Air takes a lot of abuse & almost always can keep up with whatever I ask of it.

That being said, I still prefer to watch streaming on the last gen K10. It is perfect for my needs. I'm going to keep the 10+ & use it for reading but I don't think I would want to pay the full price. I have no experience with the new K10 but I would still pay $80 for the last gen even today. That's how much I recommend it.

I am having a baby soon and our monitoring system works only if you have the app open on your phone and doesn't have dedicated screens that come with it. Would this be a good option for that? I kind of was hoping there would be a similar sale on the HD8 as the 10 seems big for this application. Thanks!
Return it and get an RF baby monitor. Putting a wifi camera in your child's room is a really bad idea. I used an Infant Optics one when my kid was a baby.

I'm the opposite. The old one is a turd and the new one is faster and smoother. I also added Google play and is amazing.

Dumb question what devices can I order this on to get the deal? Do I have to use a Echo or a Amazon tablet?

Thanks. Really stupid they aren't applying the trade in to my 2019 tablet instantly. They need to receive the device first which ruins the deal for me.

Might as well wait for prime day. The discount should be there without asking Alexa to buy it. That's what I'll do since I have $20 off $40, $10 from $40 gift card promo, $10 from small business promo, and chase 15% off promo with points.

Best advice so far from a New? user, since you got all those promos may as well add the $3 Panera offer also. Just create an account, don't need to buy anything. Repped and ruined your perfect 10 Smilie

Can this be easily stripped with fire toolbox? Deciding if I should upgrade from the 2gb version that I bought last prime day. I just do basic browsing and manga.
This would be basically $20 to upgrade, as last gen should go for $60 in mint condition with the box.
Just asking if I should bother or not.

I don't know... definitely for multiple tabs... but for a single tab... I am not convinced. How many milliseconds faster?

I am not hear to argue yes more RAM better BUT the CPU is the biggest factor.

At this price I would not hesitate to buy this tablet. We have two tablets from 2019 that we LOVE and use all the time.

Of course use Amazon tool box. I would get THIS TABLET for a kid without any hesitation.

And realize that you missed out on a Samsung S7 Tab for $200ish the other day.

yes it can.

I am not upgrading... SAME CPU!!!

Do you find it lacking?

I downloaded the app "KILLAPPS" from the play store and I run it every so often... I find it really helped keep my tablet running like it was brand new.

Sure more RAM would make things "slightly" smoother and will allow for more multitasking. But I would not do the upgrade just for more RAM.

Amazon does that for certain accounts if they do not have a history of prior trades or for any number of other reasons. I know on my accounts I have always gotten the credits applied before the trade in was sent
