There is no way to use it without a phone since it requires the internet connection supplied by your phone

Make sure you can figure out a use for this before buying. In my case, I use it to arm and disarm my ring alarm system when pulling up or away from the house.

Will let you/whomever use Alexa out in the lake, at a tailgate, by the pool, etc.
It's almost useless in your vehicle.
