Personally, I think discount tire is the best place to buy tires from. These constant rebates are not really worth much. I find tires cheaper when they are not on rebate. Regardless, DTD is my go to.
last time i found tires cheaper on amazon (DTD wouldnt price match), had them shipped to DTD for install.
I realized the differences between DT and DTD.
I was ordering for my Dad's SUV. He is a veteran, so if you are a Veteran, you can get an extra 10% off and you can ONLY get this at DT - not DTD.
Also, there are cashback click throughs for both DT and DTD. The one I used gave 4% at DT (most only work through DTD, btw).
As far as the Instant Savings goes, even though it didn't flash with the sale on DT, the tires were the same price as DTD. These were Goodyear Fortitude, by the way.
Add in the "10% off for logging in or opening an account" savings on DT and my Summary was:
The same $ on the tires as DTD
10% off for logging in
10% off for Vet discount
$50 mail in Goodyear rebate.
This took a lot of the bite out of the $22/per tire install price. ( I was going to pay $48 anyway at my local tire shop) This way I have lifetime rotation and balance through the DT store near 20 miles away.
Edit: My final out the door installed price with lifetime balance/rotation was about $530 for 255 65 17
