CHASE cardholders:
(under bonus offers on chase.com click and activate the Dell 5% bonus.)

Upgrade to Ryzen 7 for $100
Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for $50

Price will subtract $11 in cart on the Pro license. Add the "50OFF699" code for the $50 off.

Price will be exactly at $999 which is the bare minimum to activate the bonus 5% cash back on purchases of $999 or more.

So drops it to $949+ tax for Ryzen 7 and a Pro license for $100 more. Seems like the way to go.

Hope that helps someone, have a good day.

I am looking for a gaming laptop for my child. This G15 seems to offer the best specs for price. I think this is better than the EVOO series right?
Never buy an EVOO. I'm in the market to get rid of mine. I've sent it in for warranty twice, the keys stick, and it's assembled very poorly.. Never again

Thank you for this. This will help people like us who thinks newer is always better!

3050, especially the mobile version, is a card that shouldn't exist. Better tech than a 1050, but ray tracing is useless. 1660ti probably is better.

Anybody who buys a gaming laptop gets what they deserve. It's desktop or nothing for a gaming machine.
I dunno. I bought a blade 15 for my GF to use, so we can play together. It's actually not bad. The only downside is heat, and I can circumvent that with throttlestop. Would I choose a laptop over my desktop? Absolutely not, but the blade performs very well.

Above video dropped my temps about 10 degrees, ymmv. People buy laptops for portability so his comment is irrelevant.

If you're not locked from a bios update, look into throttlestop. It dropped my temps 20 degrees. If you're locked, and can't undervolt you can cripple the turboboost to whatever you'd like.

Don't bout his. It's not a good deal, 1660ti laptops are commonly around this price and is substantially faster without having 4gb vram either. Some 2060 laptops like the Evoo one which can actually do raytracing because it has 6gb VRAM hits 899$, legions hit 999

Yes, I am sure.
80W is the max TGP supported by RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti. The rest is from Dynamic Boost and that can be configured differently by different manufacturers for different Laptop models.
They can be configured from 30W to 80W without boost, and up to 95W with boost.

You stated earlier that the 3050 Ti G15 had a TGP of 90W. If that is true then, Dell's number must include boost. Which means that this 3050 at 80W is 15W shy of the max for a 3050.

Hard to find good benchmarks and comparisons for these cards... but it comparing these two reviews from Jarrod's Tech, it looks like the performance of 80+15W 3050 and 3050 Ti is very close to 1660 Ti (80W) and 2060 (90W). The 4GB Vram is sometimes a limiter for ultra settings, but otherwise it's adequate.
