FWIW, I also got that Hisense 65" last Black Friday. It was borderline unusable. Android TV sucked and even using built-in TV functions sucked. It eventually completely froze on me and stopped responding. So I did a full factory reset and this time did not configure Android TV at all and did not connect it to the internet. Since then, it's been totally fine. I plan to do this for all Hisense TVs going forward. It really does seem like the hardware is fine but the software sucks.

thanks, just ordered for delivery later next week. If better deals come up during amazon prime, I'll cancel this. I have a LG oled for the living room, this would be great as a garage home gym tv.

I have two Hisense Android TVs and they're garbage. Don't get me wrong, they were both great at first but after several updates both ended up becoming awful to use. When the interface slows down they get so painfully slow that I've been sorely tempted to try and replace them with second hand dumb TVs. With those at least you can just swap out a smart device like a roku or a Chromecast when they're deprecated. Even just switching the input is a pain on the older of my two hi-sense TVs, which is a 2017 model. I've contacted Hisense customer support and they temporarily fixed it by giving me a downgraded firmware but without going through the rigamarole of blocking further updates by blocking them through my router I'll just have to keep downgrading it to keep it usable.

I personally dont buy Chinese TVs because 1) I don't support IP theft, 2) common quality control issues and 3) returns and short life means large polution consequences.

But that is just me. I stick with Samsung, LG or Sony. But your choice are your own ofc.

Have a 2018 Hisense 49" 4K tv that has Hisense own OS which is very limited but switching inputs is as responsive as it can get. It was like only $219 and just last year I bought a 75" Hisense for $619 that has Android and YES the image quality is very bad coming from the native apps but I have an Apple TV 4K and it's night and day in quality. Using the the tv's Android apps is like using over the air channels that are encoded in 1080i.

I got that 65" Hisense on Black Friday. It died last week. Never touching Hisense again.

Was looking to get a TV for the toddlers play room. A lot of people are complaining about headaches related to Hisense.

Would these headaches be avoided by going with LG or Samsung? I know it will be a couple hundred bucks more
