every gallon of water you make, there are like 3 gallons of wasted water. Other than that, change filters fairly regularly and enjoy!

The reason for the pump on these units is so they work more efficiently is low line pressure situations such as well systems. I had one with the pump on well water and it worked fine. These RO systems work best on line pressure of about 80 psi which is common for city water. Most well systems run about 40 psi. It will work without the pump on well water but the recharge time gets longer

One shower uses the same as a month of drinking water

I just installed this water filter and it works great. It was pretty easy to install, and it had no leaks.

Did you follow the direction to dump the "waste" water into the sink?

I route mine into a 5 gal bucket beside the sink to do some washing. Still a lot of water being dump. Sometime I have to use it to flush the toilet. And an extra safety, I add another line for over flow from that 5gal bucket to the sink. I forgot a few times and the bucket was spilling over creating a mess, so that over flow line was needed. laugh out loud

Yeah it came with the saddle connector to hook it to the sinks drain pipe.

I have a different brand's 6-stage filter and I installed an aftermarket diaphragm pump and I'm really happy with results.
This seems like a great deal for a system with remineralization stage and booster pump included.

Anyone have recommendation for tankless one under $300? Not much space for a tank under the sink.

I think APEC is a better brand if you don't wanna take chance of leaking under your sink and ruin your hardwood floor.

I just bought an APEC system too. I have studied quite a while before I pulled the trigger. From all of reviews for APEC, they rarely complained about the seal and leaking. This is my major concern. Other brands have a lot people saying about seal leaking. Even the brand A.O. Smith from Lowe's has lots complaints about it leaks.

Thanks for your work! I narrowed down to APEC from general reviews but haven't gone down to the level of details you did. I'm keeping the APEC for sure Smilie

"Value" of the pump??
Most RO pumps have a shutoff pressure somewhere around 50psi, if that's what you're asking.
From the pictures, it looks like the pressure gauge goes up to 150psi
