It is; the sensor is meh to begin with compared to even cheap video cameras, so the downsampling from 4K to 720p or 1080p is appreciably important. But mainly it's the HDR driver for more dynamic range (information in the shadows and highlights) that makes the difference, bigtime.

This thing has major focus issues, I could never get it to focus me in front of my Mac and the resolution as a result looks worse than full HD.

I had to return.

I will agree that the auto-focus isn't always great depending on the lighting/environment.

However, you can simply change it to manual focus and it fixes the problem entirely.
