Anyone able to use the coupon they send via email when you signup for the newsletter? Doesn't seem to work for me even on non-sale items. Was trying to pick up 2 pairs of RS152 surround speakers and get the extra $10 off.

Rs152 vs R152? Is the RS inferior? They look weird.

Separately, thinking of a pair of R263, pair of RS152, and one R12, and center to come later. Would these be good/great for movies? Will be using for movies more than music.

Yes, this will be good/great for movies. I have the 162 and they're rather too big for surround placement but I'm using them in a 2 channel configuration and they sound great to my ears. the 263 and R12 combo should be awesome.

Having heard and compared both, the RS aren't "inferior" its two different designs so it's a design choice, di/bi pole(RS) vs direct radiating(R).

I would point out the RS is not ideal for object based soundtracks, just because of their design.
Upon saying that this is all subjective and there are people that do use them in those setups and believe it works(sounds good) for them.

Hopefully ppl can chat with them and try to get some coupons to knock down the price a bit. I got the R12 earlier when it was $170 and used a coupon to bring it down to like ~$150.

R12 is a fantastic sub, ppl here think anything less than a SVS PB2000 is garbage but I've been really happy with this sub. I use it in my main very open living room and it puts out a huge amount of sound. Yes if you feed it something really low like 20Hz it'll distort compared to say a Klipsch 15inch sub (where I dont hear the sub but feel it in my chest) but those probably will never go on sale again (at $400 sale).

This Infinity set will keep 99% of ppl out there happy if they like the sound signature.

It all depends on your placement/usage for the R152 vs RS152. I've seen someone use the RS152 as surrounds when their seating was really close to the wall (and would be hard to angle appropriately)
I actually use them as Atmos-ish speakers. mounted on the side walls all the way flush to the ceiling lined up/just in front of the main listening position to create a more wide overhead effect without ceiling speakers. I'm sure it's not perfect but sounds great to me and the price is unbeatable.
I have 2 xR263, RC263, 2x RS152, and 2x R162 (for rear surrounds, 2x R152 would be perfectly suitable as well. I just bought those first as my fronts at the time until the R263s were in stock)

Too bad the R12 is up to 200 after being 170 so often. I have a different brand sub, but for 340 it would be hard not to buy a pair.

My seating will be right up against the wall so thinking the rs152 mounted in the corners might be perfect actually. They have the r12 refurb on sale for 160. Got one sub, thinking should be sufficient with 2x r263 towers. Now just need a deal on the rc263 and want some in ceiling speakers.

Refurbs should be just like new, so definitely worth the 40 bucks savings. You may still wanna look into 2. If you have money and space for it, most people always recommend for a more even LFE response across your room.

I actually tried but their coupons don't seem to work on sale items anymore. I was hoping to at least use the $10 off $150 for signing up for the newsletter but that wouldn't work on anything. I tried with 2 different emails and both codes received didn't work at all. Chatting with CS was a pain but did finally get them give me a new code which was for 20% off. And that one did actually work but only on regular priced items or refurbished items (not sale prices). Seems like they fixed whatever coupon glitch existed in the past that people were able to take advantage of.

Sorry but having heard and compared all three of those subs I have to put my two cents here on "is a fantastic sub" and say it depends.

If all you expect from a sub is a "huge amount of sound" at a low price, yes the R12 will fulfill that.
Keep in mind it's a 12" woofer with a 300 watt amp(600 peak) and rated down to 29Hz.

Most action movies regularly go much lower than 29Hz AND if you prefer to listen at higher levels, the R12 will suffer and distort in both cases.

I will point out the PB2000 will NOT distort either, like the "Klipsch 15inch sub" Wink

Does that mean it's "garbage", no not at all, just keep in mind you get what you pay for with it.

The PB2000 is rated down to 17Hz, that is a huge difference to 29Hz. That's not the only thing you get for the price.
The 2000 gives you much more accuracy, detail, articulation with punch, in other words the "sound" will be better quality in all aspects.

This is true over the 15" Klipsch also, the Klipsch will give more of that "huge amount of sound" but it will just be more "loose"(less accurate).

So it depends what you are after in the "sound" you get from your sub but in general, better quality comes at a price.
There is a reason when SVS holds their sales, the PB2000 goes very quickly.

You always hear people say, when it comes to HT the two things you do not want to skimp on are the center and sub.
For most people the R12 would fall more under skimping, almost always people "upgrade" from it.

As you also sometimes hear.... pay once, cry once..... that might be a good way to look at it when getting a sub.

Curious if there's a source on how much sound is actually below 30 Hz in movies?

Under 30 Hz is not very common in movies at all
My googling skills are failing me and wary of just taking random postings as gospel, any websites that publish this info? I feel a lot of movies don't really exercise those low frequencies but obviously huge variety of quality content out there, some big budget movies can have terrible sound engineers.

Yea Im definitely not a measurement guy so I would have no clue.
I'm pretty sure for the ones that do, they might be able to answer that.

One thing I do know is your room environment and the volume level you're listening at plays a role there also.

Truth be told as much as "Hz" gets all the attention, IMO the bigger importance/benefit is the "quality of sound" a sub produces.

So even at 29Hz and above that SB2000 completely outperforms the R12 because the "quality" in all aspects is much better.

If those "benefits" are not a big priority, then you're not going to value it much.
We all prioritize things differently so that plays a big role on what's best for each of us.

This isn't "gospel" just my opinion from personal comparison and experience.

I'll be the 1st person to say this is completely subjective, there is no "gospel" that applies to everyone(99%)!

Anyone have any thoughts on the R253s? I've only ever had a soundbar. (And whenever I purchase from Harman, it's always JBL products)
Any feedback appreciated. Also, any opinon on how much space they take up? I know they are taller, but do you feel like it's too much?
