I consider it a deal breaker and wouldn't order it based on that- doesn't make it not a good deal based on previous pricing . Put it this way- they literally put made in Japan on the others for a reason. The Chinese ones aren't as good from my research to date.

Bought this last year for $94.99 and have absolutely no regrets. Cooks excellent rice and porridge. If you're looking for a Zojirushi that's made in Japan, you're not getting it for $99.99.

FYI- costco has a made in japan tiger rice cooker also for 99.99. Seems like reg price

great price, also expect replace the inside bowl once every 3 yr. the coating will start to having issue.
i have the similar ones used about 8yr, im on my third bowl.

Yep! I have the 3-cup Made-in-China version of this that makes excellent rice for probably 5+ years....not one issue. And when I got that, I gave my dad my older 3-cup made in china that's going strong for probably 8+ years now. Not sure what I would be gaining with a Made in Japan model.
