Aside from the Hue functionality, if the light malfunctions and burns down your house, Philips can be sued. Xiaping Trading Co, not so easy. And its a safe bet that Philips has better QC manufacturing checks than Xiaping Trading

why do people get these instead of the $20 for 50 ft strips on amazon? is it because these are just easier to install and/or have smart features built right in??

why not just read the instructions for setup and plug the cheap strips into aa $8 smart plug?

Take note of the limit.

Also, my order checked out at $84.99 per item even though it showed the $59.99 price in the cart. Is that right?
It shows $25 discount as a line item so as long as you have not paid net more than $70 you got the deal

Isn't 80 +40 =120. Why is it only 9ft instead of 10 ft?

On Costco's site it says 6 ft base and 3 ft extension. Not sure where the posted numbers in inches came from.

Probably the integration with the Hue App. If you're already in the ecosystem, why deviate from that?

Maybe Amazon will price match this. I don't have a Costco membership. I am looking for some lights to put under our kitchen cabinets and am already in the Hue ecosystem.

I'm on mobile, apologies.

Costco is rounding down; you can check the model number. It is the 80" base with the 40"extension bundle. Phillips Hue does not sell a "6.0 ft" nor "3.0 ft" variant of the updated 2020 Bluetooth models. This is the same length as all other Bluetooth models.

To be precise,

Phillips 78.7" = 6 feet 6.5 inches = "6 ft" to Costco
Phillips 38.3" = 3 feet 2.5 inches = "3 ft" to Costco

Thus, to Costco's credit, Phillips is actually rounding up a bit misleadingly.

The actual lengths are 78.7" (base) and 38.3" (extension) = 117.0" total, which is 9 ft 9". Even Phillips doesn't sell a "10 ft" bundle.

Most likely because the stated length could be 120inches, but the actual lightip portion is only 9 feet. I have an old one and the first portion is reserved for plug and control box and whatnot
