Not really. I have plus and non plus versions of smarttag. Plus has UWB which gives you distance and direction when searching for the tag. But directions and distance info are only provided when you are close by (think bluetooth distance.) Within that distance you can easily find it by ringing the tag. The non-plus version also shows you if signal is getting stronger or weaker, together with the ringer, you can still find the tag effectively. Also PLUS version battery life is shorter.
