Lmao 1080 at this size in ultrawide is comical.

Spend 900 and get the 5k width x1440 version when it goes on sale on Amazon again.

The chg series has some serious quality control issues. Ask me how I know... I had to solder off a resistor to get scan lines to stop on mine. I've had mine for years since they launched but I'd avoid them in general

This is not the ultra-wide you are looking for.

3840x1080... 49 inches. 81 PPI.

For comparison, a 24 inch 1080p monitor is 92 ppi. a 32 inch 1440p is the same.

I prefer 21inch 1080p, or 40 inch 4k, or 27inch 1440p. These are all around 109ppi
A 34inch ultrawide 1440 is also around 109ppi.

This is 81 ppi. That is basically two 27inch 1080p monitors side by side.
This would be like putting a 55inch 4k tv on your desk and only using half.

If you don't have the best eyesight, or want to sit a bit farther back from your computer, 92 ppi works. If you want one monitor and are going to sit closer, 109 ppi is better.

This monitor doesn't really make sense for anyone besides niche usage. I can't think of anything.

Bought one of these when they first came out and I love it. Is the 1440p version(s) better? I'm sure. But this thing has been sitting ~2 feet from my face for games and work for the last 3 years and I have very few complaints. It has its quirks but its still a great monitor for what it is IMO. At the end of the day I definitely recommend you see it in person before writing it off... specs on paper don't always tell the whole story. With that said the cost difference to go up to 1440p does seem pretty worth it. But if you are on a tight budget and think you might not miss the extra pixels, this is still worth considering IMO.

I've got a 49" AOC Agon with scanline issues too, how'd you figure out what to solder?

I picked up an ultrawide monitor for a video project I had landed without doing any research. This 1080 34" does help but the bigger pixels compared to the MacBook it's connected to are very noticeable.

I'm going to sell this one and get a higher-res monitor. At this price and size, it's almost not worth it to stick with 1080.

Yeah for a better perspective this would be exactly like 2 x 27" stacked side by side with a resolution of 1920 x 1080p. For me personally the 1080p resolution stops at 24".

Don't buy this. It's from the same generation as C32HG70 and C27HG70, and these have MASSIVE failure rates.

Personally I would prefer go with the 43inch instead of this 49

I bought this when it first released. Just be careful and make sure you get a good unit. After about two years, I started getting that dreaded screen problem that a lot of people were complaining about. I've since turned off ultimate Freesync off, and so far it's good.
