If one only knew if/when T-Mobile might do another trade XR for iPhone 12/Mini or even a 13 this could be a good one to park in the drawer. Usually does not need to be unlocked for trade-in. But involves some risk and patience.

I know personally that the Rsim works. I've been using it on mine since December. Updated each time there was another 14.xx with no issue. iOS 15 may require an updated Rsim version.

Tempted to get this but already got the one from total wireless although refurb.

The trade in value to Apple isn't great either since it'll break even or possibly be lower.
