For anyone who cares, here's the math of best-case savings percentages on these tiers (best-case meaning you spend only the minimum required):

Get 15 when you spend 200 = 15 / 215 = 7.0 %
Get 25 when you spend 300 = 25 / 325 = 7.7 %
Get 70 when you spend 600 = 70 / 670 = 10.4 %

And yes, you have to include the future purchase in the calculation because these are credits, not discounts.

For Prime Members: Use the Amazon app and place orders totalling $600 today (6/22) and receive a coupon worth $70 back. $300 gets $25. $200 gets $15.

Click this link to check eligibility:
https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&...1423113011

If you are a Prime member and it does not show as eligible, uninstall your Amazon Shopping app, check eligibility again, and then reinstall the app.

Orders MUST be placed using the Amazon Shopping app. Only orders placed on 6/22 count. The spend can be spread across multiple orders. Coupon will be received through an app notification by 7/3.

Gift card purchases, fees, taxes, discounts, gift wrap and shipping and handling costs are excluded when determining the total amount spent. Customers will not receive credit for cancelled or returned orders.

Be careful.

I cancelled an item I ordered yesterday.. went to re-order, saying it can't be shipped to my address? But it could yesterday?

Why didn't I try the re-order before cancelling.. Sigh.

So if I purchased something at $599.99, I would only qualified to receive $25 credit and not the $70?

Probably those special deals which have limit 1 per household and it is not smart enough to reinstate the canceled items.

Wasn't on sale or anything....

I think it is a bad error message when there's limited stock of something? I've seen other sites like Best Buy do the same thing.

If I was a part of their engineering team, then definitely yes.. Youd only be gettin 25$ .. id suggest adding a filler item to cross $600.

I just purchased $640 worth of items from Amazon and the person I'm talking to via the Amazon chat says they WILL NOT honor it because the items were from a 3rd party vendor. NO WHERE in the description of the offer does it state that. It just says you cannot use the coupon on anything but Amazon products.

If this is definitive, I am just not going to place my order now.

Confirmed!

I had to speak to Amazon customer rep via the phone THEN request a supervisor. Then explain the situation again just to have them come back and tell me the exact same thing!

HOWEVER since I've been a "loyal customer" for years I got a $50 credit towards my purchase and a $20 discount on my membership.

YMMV

I did that a lot. I mean I place a lot of orders, someone mentioned that if I "misuse/abuse" the system, I will get flag, or banned. I was like I'm not intend to do it, but if you can't return something you don't want, then what's the point to buy something from amazon
Theres 2 different things there -

1) Cancelling a preorder/unshipped order should not count negatively towards your account at all
2) Cancelling a "preparing for shipment" order (they might not be able to cancel it, but they'll try) MAY count negatively towards it, but probably not.
3) Cancelling a shipped order (fulfilled by amazon) where they return it to sender MAY count negatively towards your account
4) Returning an order once received DOES count negatively towards your account (as do asking for discounts on orders via chat/phone)

If you have 20 preorders and cancel them, then re-order 20 of them.. you're fine.
If you have 20 orders that are delivered and you're returning them to re-buy again, you'll probably have an issue

I wouldn't consider their chat people to be knowledgeable on the subject. Most of them just kind of wing it (but with confidence). Since most promos DO need to be Shipped/Sold by amazon, they probably spread that info as if it were fact.

Since Prime Day has a LOT of 3rd party sales from non-amazon sellers, it would make a lot more sense that you could order from anyone (but have to use that $70 with amazon). I would wait until July 3rd, and if it comes to it.. go to them again with a screenshot of the page and they'll likely credit your account

If there are a ton of items like LotusCloudLex mentioned, this is not a good idea.

Do this for too many items and Amazon will flag, then close your account. In many cases, they will not reinstate it either.

Now, if the items have not shipped yet, this should be perfectly ok.

My return rate is about 1/10, sometimes 2/10. I have about 30+ S&S monthly. I only return something have issues, such as damaged, or no longer need. I know people have issues with Buy and return later, I don't consider myself as one of them, but things happens. The problem with this promotion is that I'm not sure if someone return particular items later AFTER they receive the promotion. Some said that amazon will flag the account, some said that amazon will do pro-rate, etc

I got farked by doing this. Went to re-order and was told it wasn't deliverable to my address.

It says in-stock and was deliverable yesterday... my only guess is that certain items (like this one) must be in stock regionally?

I suggest re-ordering, then cancelling the old... in that order.
