Would this be good for a Nvidia shield? Then to figure out how to maximize the shield.....

Prefer the SK Hynix S31 Gold which frequently gets coupons on Amazon product page to make it between $85-$90 for the 1TB. It just ended today.

Not sure the Samsung premium is justifiable anymore. And the lack of interest here (no, TUs aren't reliable for that, too much gaming going on to get on FP) shows that.

I just got this for $99 a few days ago. It has Samsung data transfer and speed boost setting. I upgraded my 850 500gb boot drive. That is worth it to choose Samsung over Hynix for me.

I purchased samsung just because of the migration software, and it was a bust. It never migrated. I had to get another program to migrate my windows 10 over. So, I wouldn't buy Samsung just for that anymore. I also can't unplug my old drive, or my new drive won't boot, even though the new drive is set as the boot drive. It is SUPER frustrating.

I run a PC repair shop. 99% if the time Samsung's data migration works perfect. I can only count on one handed how many times it has failed. You got incredibly unlucky.

I thought it was just me. The Samsung migration software had failed all three times for me. The WD version of acronis worked the first time I tried it on my other PC.

I ran into this last week as their migration wouldn't work for me either at first, I googled and found some site with Windows 10 settings to change but that still didn't fix it. What finally fixed it for me was turning off "Controlled folder access" in Windows Defender. So if you run into problems, try doing the recommended Windows 10 setting changes and turn off all your anti-virus/malware programs.

People still are loyal to Samsung SSDs over Hynix because of "b-die" lol.

The latest Magician Software is also failed to run on my Windows 10. Cannot find a solution for it.

For people who are still looking at migration software to come with the SSD, just stop. The SSDs don't require specific software

There are plenty of cloning and backup software out there you can use. AOMEI, Macrium Reflect all offer free versions that work just fine. They will all create bootable Windows partitions on the new drive from the old partition. Will work on ANY brand SSD.
