To get to the sub menu, hold the power and mode buttons together. Then there will be P0, P1, P2, P3, P4. The first 3 are on or off denoted by a 1 or 0 for the setting. The other 2 are choices.
P0 - switches between mph and kph speed display.
P1 - turns on or off the cruise control. Double throttle tap does not work for me, instead if the setting is set to 1 or on, the scooter beeps if you stay a constant speed for a few seconds, if you continue to speed up, it will reactivate for the new speeds. Throttle and brake disable it. Works very well.
P2 - turns on and off the kick to start system. When it arrived, I needed to be rolling to activate the throttle, setting this to 0 or off makes it so the motor works whenever you use the throttle. Nice feature.
P3 - not exactly sure what it does, it has two settings: 08 and 10. After testing, it seems like a power limiter. 10 seems to have a slightly better acceleration and speed.
P4 - safety speed limits. 3 settings: ff, 20, and 25. FF does not limit the speed. 20 limits it to 12ish mph, and 25 limits it to 9ish mph.

Well, I did the research and an ES3 Plus is a rebadged Costco-exclusive ES4 so 3 months out of a Hover-1 Blackhawk is 3x what I got out of my Segway before it left me stranded and it needed service. That should give some much needed perspective to anyone expecting more than that out of a lesser-known brand (Hover) before these need service. Though anecdotal, it's a strong case for getting a backup and a warranty if you will be relying on it like we do. Note: The Amazon reviews others reference are anecdotal too.

thats like picking out the negative review of any product and using it as the sole representative of the entire product which obviously is biased and unfair. I see people do the same thing for other products. 100s and 1000s of reviews and of course there are negative ones but the overall rating is still good, they decide to go with the bad ones as the one they go with expecting only a flawless perfect product that has no bad reviews?
So sure, use your opinion and the amazon reviews and others as anecdotal but im here to call you out in the process of how you came to your conclusion. nitpicking the few negative reviews out of the bunch that still gave an overall good rating. It's like going on Yelp and despite having a near perfect rating a potential diner only judges it by the few bad reviews.

I see countless examples of week to month-old scooters of all brands failing... often with that burned out fuse which is not user-serviceable (swap out the controller board). My point was that he (and we) need realistic expectations and daily commuting for significantly longer without any issue is probably optimistic. You don't buy these for reliable transportation unless you are prepared to service them and have a backup. At the very least, be prepared for flats.
Most reviews are written in that honeymoon period where things are still working fine. My point was that even taking his pessimistic 3-month interpretation as a baseline, it's still more than 3x my anecdotal experience with a bigger brand... so don't let the lesser brand scare you off. Instead, just be realistic about your expectations.
