It's the best deal now if you don't live close to a direct tools store.

I bought mine directly from HD a few weeks ago and have used it several times. My experiences so far:

1. Using my Ryobi 3Ah Lithium XP+ battery with the fan and mist functions each set to LOW, I get about 4 hours from a 5 gallon bucket before the water runs out. At that time, the battery has been depleted about 25%.

2. I've also tested large blocks of ice in the bucket. No noticeable change since the temperature of the water droplets instantly change to whatever the ambient temp is, so don't bother using ice water.

3. Even with it 6 feet away from me on our patio, the mist rarely gets on me because the slightest wind will send it elsewhere. So it works best if the air is still. That said...

4. Anything within the first few feet will get SOAKED as a good amount of "mist" (which is really more like a "spray") will immediately fall to the ground because gravity. I have used this to my advantage though to keep our hydrangea cool on those 90F+ days.

5. Noise Level: When the fan is on "LOW", it's acceptable. When on "HI", it's pretty loud. The misting difference between LOW and HI aren't all that much from my observations.

6. Is it worth it? Would I buy it again? Yes! In fact I am considering 2 or 3 more located around in the backyard if/when we ever have guests over in the backyard during the summer heat.

These are probably best for hot & dry climates, like Arizona, Southern Utah, etc. In Florida it is very much less useful.

The misting would just allow for a light mist is water to hit you while you're working. Instead of drenching in just sweat or a bunch of water, it's just a light coat. I don't think it would be advised to use this enclosed indoors

It's only useful in dry climates, but in Arizona a misting system can drop temps 20 degrees on a patio

These take forever to ship right? I have a sore in stock about 19 miles away, cost about the same with gas vs shipping, but picking it up would be faster.

Are the ones in store basically new like the ones we order online?

Usually ships within a few days via FedEx and depending on where you live, arrives in about a week

I've been trying to get one of these from HD for the past year and they have never had them in stock in my area. I'll take a "factory blemished" version. Think of it as a dented box.

I live in a humid climate, but this sounds great to me, especially as the sun is going down. Maybe I'll put ice cold water in the bucket lol. We'll see. In for 1.
