Is that an uncommon type of switch? I've only ever heard of cherry/cherry mx and gaterons before
Outemu does make some good switches. Not like the red, blue, or brown switches, but some "aftermarket" ones. The reviews aren't bad. Search up all Outemu switches and a Reddit link will show.
Not uncommon, but they're incompatible with the other brands because they use a smaller socket

Outemu is known for being a budget switch option on keyboards. The red, brown, and blue switches aren't horrible, but Cherry switches are better as they are produced in Germany. Outemu and a lot of Chinese switch brands are replicas of Cherry when their patent expired.
Agree with this. I have some Outemu Box browns that I prefer over my standard Gateron browns as they have less wobble. And thankfully I was able to harvest them from a super cheap keyboard I got here on SD a while ago!
