If you're thinking, "This guy posted the Woot deal last night and is posting this deal now" then you are absolutely right...
Best Buy has the
Philips Hue HDMI Sync Box [bestbuy.com] for $229.99. This one is brand new, unlike the Woot deal yesterday.
If you're thinking "it's not a deal" then you're right. It's selling for the regular price. But it's actually hard to find these days. So the "deal" here is just finding one in stock. I have been monitoring it, and I noticed that it was back in stock after what seemed like months of being out of stock.
It appears to only be available via store pickup. Buy it while they're in stock. The Woot deal did not last the whole day. This deal also features easy returns, the length of which would vary based upon your status at Best Buy (15-45 days).
I hope the conversation doesn't devolve into whether this item is worth its obviously inflated price. It's expensive, but for those who love it, it's apparently worth it.
Enjoy!

It also applied a 10% off coupon because it's my birth month. I didn't even know I had that!
Regardless, can some one share how much input lag this adds to gaming?
And how's the hdmi switch experience on this box? (CEC, auto switch input, auto power on/off, pass common remote controls to chained device, etc.)
This will go on my 75" living room TV, which is our main movie watching area, but I'm thinking about getting the Govee version for my 55" basement/man-cave TV that's mainly used for video games. I don't think I can justify the cost for two of these.

This with the gradient hue strips are the best option for an "ambilight tv" on the market right now.
Two things you should know about this product (both of which don't bother me but might bother you):
- the play hdmi box is not compatible with the new 2.1 standard and doesn't support your new PS5 with 4k@120hz. You will need to drop to 60hz or 1080p.
- you can only set one refresh rate for these strips. In other words they will either change colors quickly or slowly (you can set this to your preference). This means sometimes you want colors to change a bit more gradually in a slow scene and other times you want them to change faster because it's an action fast paced scene. You will need to pick one because you can't have the best of both worlds.
anyway, in for 1. ty!

Otherwise, loving it a a frivolous device.

Hahaha, I know that frustration. I learned when playing Hulu on my second monitor, Steam will lose focus and send my character running in what ever direction that was last pressed. So I'm in the middle of Zombie Land, running forward and blind. It adds to the exhilaration.
