This is the same price at Walmart in store if you need it sooner. I'm going to hold off on this one. Reviews show that it's lacking a lot of features that made previous Mario golf games shine.
I'm still waiting for Mario Strikers on switch 😪
This game is missing the replays, highlights, and online tournaments older ones had. It also has a series low 5 courses. Not worth it to bite above $40 unless you are really hard up to play this for some particular reason.

Target priced matched Walmart 49.94 and got the free bag played for 3 hours and it's lacking features of a $60 game if you can try it for a week before you buy it I would recommend saving your money

That's why I went with physical for this one. Figured I'd play it until I've had enough, and then flip it for whatever it's selling for at that time.

Nintendo seeds to chill with their prices. Geeze. And already hearing how lacking this game is. Of course. Also, this is an all new game right? Not some rehash of a Wii U game or something?? They almost tricked me with the Donkey Kong Country one since I haven't had a Nintendo for several generations.
Dude I paid $60 for DK:TF. Don't regret paying that at all. What an awesome game.

It has 6 courses + the battle arena. They also teased an Odyssey course update that may be free.

Got Mario tennis for $30. Mario kart for $30. Mario party for $30. Perfectly happy with all those prices for the game. Only one worth more to me would be Mario kart however.

I bet this game will go on sale in the next month or two for $35-40.
No it won't.

I still go back to Tennis Aces to play tournaments from time to time, which is why I absolutely hate that they are not in this game

I don't really trust these eBay sellers to send the US version. I ordered paper Mario after it came out from an EBay seller like this and it clearly showed the US version in the image, but they sent the European version. It all plays the same on your US console, but if you care about the case matching your collection, it can be annoying.

New game. Not a rehash.

Video games have been 60 bucks msrp for a while.

Yeah, and many of the switch games have been over priced since the inception. They are giving lower tier games at top tier pricing. These aren't AAA titles on switch, there's definitely something to be said for more like a $39.99 starting price for many switch games.

It might. It's not getting well reviewed and may be destined for the bargain bin

You clearly don't know what you're talking about. But a person can dream.

No, no saved replays just like the last installment World Tour on 3ds. This was disappointing just like it was 5+ years ago. At least we have video capture on Switch, but it's not the same.

I bought it, I've played a decent amount of standard play, and just beat Adventure mode. I've played every game in the series. The game is definitely on the easy side like most of them, unless you play point (match) mode against the CPU, I dare you to show that's easy.

Adventure (rpg) mode is a showcase of the game, and is on par with the other portable rpg modes unless you have the attention span of a Toad. There are 6 - 18 hole courses (despite the misinformation in this thread) plus a battle mode which is 4 tweaks of the same course, and we know another course (likely a battle course) is coming via free DLC. Online play is present as long as you have their paid online program. ($20 individual per year, $35 for a "family"... under $5 per person).

As for the new modes/ gameplay, when they were revealed I wasn't impressed. After playing them I have very mixed reactions, nothing too negative so far. At times it feels like a party game, more Mario Kart than golf (battle mode). This would be great for multiplayer. The shot mechanic works great for golf, and honestly feels more true to the game. No more can you take that high risk shot knowing you can nail the impact input. It didn't take long for me to realize I was playing Mario Golf just like Is play regular golf.

That was the surprising thing to me. As I was playing simultaneous play, I hit a shot from a ways away. My character picked up his clubs and I was moving him towards the hole when I was stopped. I sunk the shot and had no idea. As I look at the shots, risk I was taking, it was very close to what I'd do in real life. It was shocking to see a Mario Golf game, with goofy Mario obstacles was the closest simulation to actually playing real life golf for me.

All that said, it's an arcade golf game. If you don't have much for an attention span, the story mode is not for you (just like the other portable rpg modes). The gameplay is different, and sacrifices the impact input for fade/hook input. You also have the "speed" aspect which gives it a racing feel.

It's not for everyone, but I for one am a fan so far. It has standard gameplay, and the new gameplay changes the formula up considerably. My only big complaint is no saved replays with a dynamic camera, otherwise it's great imo.
