These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.
Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.

Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.
FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.

How long does it take Wells Fargo to get the card out? Approved on the 8th, still no card.

Finally arrived, 18 days later and their website won't set up my online account. Geez, how is WF still in business?

How long until you get the $200 reward?

For example, if I buy a TV and pass the threshold, do I get the reward money right away or do I have to wait until the 3 months for it to come in?

Was not approved. I have a credit score of 822 and no debt besides a mortgage. Not sure what they are looking for in a customer. Oh well

Same here. I've been waiting for the card almost 3 weeks now. I did get a letter last week saying to be on the lookout for my new card, but still no card. I've never had a card take this long.

Saw this offer pop up in the news and was waiting for it to go live. Good deal with extra perks is a win for my bank account!

Yep, Wells Fargo has definitely had negative things going on in the past. However, if you stopped dealing with every company who had negative/media issues I'm not sure who you would be working with at this point?
100% agree.

I'm another person waiting on a card for weeks. Nonexistent communication from Wells Fargo makes me wonder what else are they not dialed in with. Heard lots of apologies from customer service with little else.

Also >800 score, not approved. LOL. Can't wait to get the letter with the reasons why, should be highly entertaining.

I should have just bailed when they couldn't verify my identity without having me send in ID and utility bills, should have been a dead giveaway that I was dealing with a clown operation. Let it ride since I already took the hit for the hard pull.

Just got approved after the letter. I needed to unfreeze my credit block. They should have been able to tell me that and let me submit again instantly.

$200 Bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening from Chase Flex and Capital One is better!

I have this card from last deal when I saw it posted... I literally pay my card off once or twice a week. I use it for work n run it up on expenses. N I have the rewards every month automatically rolled over to my loan payment. Every little bit extra helps... Especially when it's free money!

Go with the Synchrony Premier Mastercard 2% back card instead of supporting a company like Wells Fargo condoning their illegal actions.

It depends on how you pay your credit card. I've been blocked from making a payment from an outside bank. It's really frustrating. I called and they said the limit to make online payments is 6. They said I could make it over the phone but that didn't help get it applied to the credit card immediately.

I was able to stop at the bank and pay it via check from an outside bank. I just handed them my credit card and they took the check and applied it to the credit card balance.

I signed up several months ago for this card and the $300 checking bonus. The credit card bonus came in when the statement closed after I had reached the 1K spend. That was super easy--I paid my homeowners insurance in advance and the monthly payment on the CC was less the the monthly payment on the homeowners insurance.

I have maxed out the amount on the credit card and just keep making small payments to allow for the spend. I love using other people's money (banks) while my $$$ is earning interest. Lots of accounts paying 4% and above in interest. PNC has a savings account paying 4%. Origin Bank has a checking account paying 6% up to 40K--has requirements but pretty easy to make them.

I haven't had a challenge with Wells Fargo other then them not letting me make more then 4 payments a month which has only happened in the past 2 months. A deposit into a Wells Fargo checking account might help some of you. The limit is only on outside banks. I haven't found anything that I've purchased that doesn't qualify for the 2%.

I'm paying with my Wells Fargo account... Maybe that's why? But I have made 6 n as much as 10 payments in a month. N I agree that Ive gotten 2% on everything I've used it on.
